Disabled supporters assistants made to use black season card

But there are disabled supporters who have posted on this thread that have explained why this does make them feel uncomfortable and are not happy about it.
Yes, and some don't. It isn't cut and dried discrimination as was being suggested.

However it does seem that the obvious solution suiting all would be to have them the same colour. But I don't think it was a decision based on discrimination. Probably someone suggested it from an operational point of view and whoever they consulted with didn't see a problem with it.

I did speak to my son who has Aspergers Syndrome. He doesn't have a SC but wouldn’t see a problem if his carer, or helper, had a different coloured one. He would just be pleased they were able to be there with him. As is the case with his cinema tickets.

But even if a small proportion of disabled supporters are made to feel uncomfortable then it isn't right. Especially when there is no obvious functional reason for it other than to potentially highlight someone hasn't paid for a ticket and to prevent abuse of the system. This in itself puts the stewards in an awkward position where they would further invade a persons privacy around any conditions they may have.

I'm positive it wasn't a decision made to purposely discriminate but whoever made it is obviously either ignorant/naive to how it may make some disabled supporters feel.

Now the problem has been brought to their attention, they should be looking to rectify as soon as possible. But of course they will not do that.

I was in the ticket office on Saturday and noticed a very large stack of blank cards by one of the printers, all of them black.

Is it possible that the black cards aren't just for disabled fans and PAs, but are just the style they've chosen for the latest batch? I'm probably clutching at straws, but they did have an awful lot of them
