What a massive own goal this is.

A week to go and this is dropped on us

Absolutely zero chance my elderly relative who I normally meet in the stadium will do this.

When I can’t go I also give my mates a ticket for free.

We're introducing digital ticketing at the Riverside Stadium for the 2023/24 season.

You will not be receiving a physical card, but rather a digital Season Card which will be kept within the wallet of your mobile device. It’s secure, fast and easy to use, powered by NFC (Near Field Communication) which is the same wireless technology used for contactless payment. The digital Season Card only needs to be downloaded once, with the information displayed on the digital Season Card automatically updated for each fixture.

We have created a dedicated information section on our website for digital ticketing, with links below. The section includes; guides on how to download the digital Season Card to your mobile device on both Apple and Android, a matchday guide, containing some useful information on what to do when you get to the Riverside, and an FAQs page to help troubleshoot any issues and answer any questions you may have, in particular if you don't have a smartphone.

Please download your digital Season Card to your mobile phone or other device as soon as you can, please do not wait until arriving at the Riverside.

We want you to be set up and comfortable within plenty of time ahead of the new season, while familiarising yourself with the matchday guide will also help. Our stewards have been briefed and trained on digital ticketing, so they will be on hand to help if needed.

We are holding an open day at the Riverside on Tuesday 1 August, 12pm until 7pm, where we will open the turnstiles and run a matchday environment. Our staff will be there to assist with the downloading of passes and walk you through what is required when getting to the turnstile. You can then be confident in the technology and see for yourself just how easy it is.
What about children that don't have smartphones?
More than one digital Season Card can be downloaded to a device, so we would therefore recommend that parents / guardians also download those of any children attending the game with them. More information regarding this can be found within our FAQs.

No choice on the email.

My grandad loves his gold plated watches us play the old third division status ticket.

I want a physical plastic season ticket.

10000k people will be on the phone to mfc.

I do not want a crap digital season card. Rubbish idea, sack the person who thought of this.

You can have it. Try searching for the original threads.

Click on I don’t want a digital season card.

“You can buy a smart phone for as little as £35”.

That is the message.

what an insulting message. You don’t have a phone, off you pop and buy one for £35.

It might be December before your/his stand is affected - as the changes are being phased in around the ground very gradually. But I have been assured that there is absolutely no way they would force/expect your grandad to have a digital season card.

Only for so long.....until the tech is completely "rolled out". (n)

Looks like there's a opt out here, doesn't mention anything about timelines or that it will be withdrawn.

What if I don't have a compatible smart phone or other mobile device?

If you are a Season Card holder and you do not have a smart phone, or you don't wish to use digital ticketing, you can apply for an alternative method of entry by completing the form below and sending it to tickets.mfc.co.uk. The rollout of digital Season Cards is in stages, so please only complete this form once you have been contacted about getting set up for digital ticketing.
