Precisely. They're not doing anything to stop the war memorial being defaced stood where they are since the war memorial is about a 10 minute walk from where they are, which is the Lord Londonderry monument. Thick as mince

Try Syria and Libya where the "rebels" are funded by the CIA and supplied with arms and intelligence, including that supplied by the British.
There are als0 the Israeli`s, backed by the USA who are the tool of the West - a divisive Nuclear power which has unholy alliances with the likes of Saudia - Arabia, who rely on the USA, Britain and France for their majority of weapons.
Those weapons are being used in a proxy war against Yemen to commit genocide.
If we add in the CIA backed overthrow of the elected president in Bolivia and attempted coup in Venezuela - your "logical view" is very simplistic and untrue.
Recruitment of armed men and disciples isnt restricted to physical boundaries on a map.
Psychops ["Brainwashing"] isnt the privilege of a few select rogue states or terrorists.
Read up on the history of the Special Operations Executive, just to begin with.
The concept of "them" and "us", "good guy - bad guy" is a myth.

Military governance and purpose is muddied by self interest, subversion of democratic states, imperial motives, natural resources and colonialism.

Agreed - to the uninitiated they are good patriots [nice footi fans] stopping those horrible people from defacing our memorial.
They are a bunch of opportunist rabble whose intention is to stir up discontent and violence.

It was predictably self defeating to the cause defacing those statues, but it's certainly about time we started to look at the 'heroes' in a little more of a balanced light. It was a tactical mistake, but then it was individual choices to do that, not the actions of an organised rally.

Churchill was a bit of a b****d, certainly glorified in his own racism, wasn't particularly liked by many people that worked with and for him, almost certainly suffered from bi-polar, was immensely privileged and is 'arguably' a war criminal after targeting civilians. Yet he has been painted as an untouchable figure by many in this country.

I prefer to look through history through a bit more of a balanced lens. He was certainly a product of his time, but his racism was clear and shouldn't be airbrushed. He was flawed, but inspirational, a great orator, but sometimes saying appalling things, a leader in a time of trouble but not a man who could lead in normal times. The pragmatic view, is that we should be glad he lead us, but we should accept he was flawed. I'm not sure where I stand on the idea of removing statues of people that are tainted, because we wouldn't have any statues, but defacing them isn't a great look and plays into the hands of nationalist nutters and conservative figures.
 
What we class as racist now was mostly the normal back then. Just looked at tv programs in the 70/80 mocking black people which most of us laughed at. No one should spray anything on Churchill’s statue.

I'm not sure it was entirely normal, most Brits probably never met a black man in their life so I doubt their racism was ever tested.
