Declan Rice- how over rated is this guy?

He’s 21 lads, he’s probs got another 3/4 seasons before he starts to hit his peak.

N’Golo Kante was playing in the french 3rd division at that age. Rice probs has close to 100 apps in the prem. Does it mean Rice will be better Kante, of course not.

But he’s definitely doing pretty well for a kid that age and has a long time to improve.

And I’m pretty sure if he was a Teessider some of us would be hailing him as the 2nd coming of Lothar Matthaus. Plenty would still be saying to sell him for £3m whilst we can though.

Never watched Rice and been blown away, have watched Winks a bit closer and really don't see the fuss, think he's very average. Both still young like.

To be fair defensive midfielders don't really stand out when you're watching the odd game, you've got to watch a lot of them. Unless they're god-level like Kante or Fernandino or Rodri.

At the top level you need an attacking element to your game regardless of where you play, as AM said on page 1.
We struggled yesterday against a team that got everyone behind the ball. It was crying out for the game to be stretched, but our pedestrian playing it out from the back and sideways midfield possession made it a lot easier for Iceland to carry out their game plan. Get any team facing their own goal and you have a chance.
As much as we have some very good young players we really don't have the midfield maestro-type that can transition the side from back to front quickly and effectively.

Definitely missed Marvin Johnson marauding down the wing, putting in some decent crosses for Fletcher to continue his scoring run.

Foden, Maddison, Grealish?

Taking Foden off for Ings was ridiculous.

You needed Foden on, to supply Ings.

Plus Grealish should've been on that pitch.

Southgate is starting to lose some faith with the fans.

I've seen on social media a lot of supports losing patience with Southgate with his team selections.

I think you need a settled side at International level. To much chopping and changing doesn't help, players can't get used to each other...

Just seen a stat, in 900 minutes of prem football this season, Declan Rice has only been disposed once.

Reminded me of this thread.

Some light hearted Monday evening entertainment 😀

People who can't see his obvious talent need to book an appointment at Specsavers!

Everton and Aston Villa are the leading the race to secure the transfer of Tottenham and England midfielder Harry Winks, 25, in January.
I was hoping to get away with that one 😂
Joking aside I do really like Harry Winks and think he will come good, been unlucky at Spurs with constant churning of managers.
Sort of player you could build your team around 👍

Yeah it was tongue in cheek, I think he's more than decent and just needs a decent run in a settled team.
