Covid finally got me

I've just picked it up for the second time - had it at Christmas then woke up Saturday morning with exactly the same symptoms (massive sweats and a high heart rate). Got a headache this time around which I've never really experienced.

Never really got my smell back from the original time and managed to start showing symptoms for parosmia, where everything I eat tastes like cigarette smoke.

My ma-in-law has just come down with it. She's 78 but in good health. The bigger worry is the father-in-law, who is 94 and in constant poor health. If he gets it, it'll almost certainly see him off

 Cigarette smoke? I had that for a while ages ago and was baffled as to why. I never tested positive for covid at the time? Very odd. I commented to the Mrs several times that I could smell cigarette smoke and nobody smokes in our house? She couldn't smell it.

Finally testing negative again on day 12. Well, it looks negative...I keep going back squinting hard and seeing phantom faint lines...still got the stuffy nose.

It never presented until maybe early February. It comes and goes between meals but largely there most days, especially when I'm eating meat or eggs. It is almost as if you cannot catch your breathe and someone is stood in front of you breathing fag smoke in your face. Is this sensation similar?

Day 12???

Shoot I'm on day 3 and I'm climbing up the walls already. What are other peoples clear up rates?

Me too...but basically cos we're getting a new roof on this week...the noise isn't too bad and I'm managing to nap during the day....but the scaffolding had knocked the bloody sky out. Have freeview in the back room but I'm not sitting at the breakfast bar all day so either radio 2 or watching sky go/Disney plus on me phone 😩😩

Pretty much, yes.

Legz , get yourself an Amazon firestick, plug in telly anywhere , download tv apps , you tube, netflix and many others, hours of fun :)

Just getting over it now after a couple of weeks of mainly extraordinary fatigue. Still find it hard to stay awake after a few hours doing stuff.

Tested negative today - 5 days later - (still bringing the green stuff up but at least it is coming away!) thank God it is over because it was a horrible experience.

Hope you stay well, sure you will. Still managing to dodge it even though all the family and work have had it
I spoke too soon. Got it as soon as I stepped of the ferry in Dublin. Glad I'm travelling alone. Pretty rough fluey symptoms, banging headache and a cough that is really painful and keeps me awake.
At least I get to watch the match rther than go out with colleagues

Looks like The Killers finally did for me 🤒
Should you require any LFTs I believe a certain cottage (No. 4 🤫) has the largest stock in the UK.:giggle:

Mrs Chickenrunner tested positive on Sunday 29th May having returned from 3 days visiting friends in Cumbria. She managed to infect one of her friends and her mother who both subsequently tested positive. I started to feel unwell on Tuesday through to Friday but tested negative on 3 separate occasions (I felt a bit left out to be honest  ). I was OK on Saturday but became aware that my sense of taste was not right and then discovered I had zero sense of smell. Go figure. 🤷‍♂️
