Covid finally got me

After 2 years of working in retail, and then becoming a receptionist at a vets I've caught the lurgy!!! Bit snotty with a sore throat this morning....getting a bit shivery now though. Plenty of lucozade and paracetamol in!!

I have had 3 "normal colds" this year and I have done boat loads of covid tests, who knew 2 years ago we get a sniffle and we shove a cotton bub up our noses!! then in some fluids!

I would have put it down to a touch of hay-fever or a bit of a hangover but 1 of the vets went down with it on Friday so I tested just in case, being responsible etc... never thought it would come back positive. Week off now as company still want us to isolate for 5 days.

I dodged it until 3 weeks ago. I felt shocking, probably the worst I've ever felt and it lingered for a couple of weeks.

Hope you're better asap.
I had it last year - banging headaches and exhaustion, not much of a cough and no loss of taste or smell.
Like sadgit I had a bad cold this year and took a test which was negative - but think we'll be testing every time we have a bad cold now

Me, our lass and my lad had it about a month ago. But we're jabbed up so it was more about tiredness, more than anything.
It makes me think about the first lockdown. Without the vaccines where would we be? Scary. Shanghai are locking down right now - I hope its not a new variant. Jesus.
I am pretty sure I had it last year when I was wheezing for the first time in my life - the sound of it woke me up for a few nights. Weird. No loss of smell etc. But I tested negative on those home thingys.

I have it at the moment
Feel dreadful and can’t wait for it to go away
Haven’t slept for 3 nights properly
Never had it before and it makes you wonder what the effects would have been without the jabs.

I've had it for 11 days. Have only had mildish symptoms, luckily. Still feel a little stuffy nosed at times. Only annoying thing I'm still testing positive on LFTs. I can't go back the office until I get a negative, even though I'm out of the advised 10 day isolation. Both parents got it too and had quite bad coughs for a few days.

Same here, tested positive last Wednesday, was due a pacemaker upgrade tomorrow but that has had to be cancelled. So glad i had the jabs.

I have had it twice. First was just after my second dose of moderna in the summer and I was stuck in bed for 10 days feeling like the end was near!
Second time was around 3 weeks after i had the booster and it was much milder but i still had shockingly bad headaches and was very lethargic for a good week or so.

It's absolute crap. I had it last month and felt really unwell for about 4 days, like a flu, but the worst one I've ever had, could barely get out of bed. The headache was the worst for me, absolutely banging. I then had cold-like symptoms for about another 6 or 7 days after that which wasn't the best.

Finally caught up with me this weekend too. Felt really rough yesterday as well. No symptoms like loss of taste yet but just feels like a bad chest infection.

I feel the isolating is going to be worse than the disease. At least I hope so. Feeling fractionally better today.

Well day 2....and, fingers crossed, not as bad as I feared it could be. Nose is like a tap and if I'm not sneezing I'm coughing, throat is sore, shivers on and off but not too severe and when I stand up I do get a touch dizzy and quite tired. Hoping it's not a case of things getting worse before they get better.

I've just recovered from it, flu symptoms and a runny nose, cough came later for me,still with me and feeling pretty tired as the day goes on, certainly takes it out of you.
To all those that have it, please take it easy, it's not nice and be prepared for additional tiredness long after the symptoms have ended.
Legz I hope day three is better than day 2

I had it about 3 weeks ago, like flu, in bed for 4 days but no loss of smell, taste etc. Had a savage head ache for 2 days too.

I've still got pain in my sinuses tho, which is just lingering and making me a little uneasy to be honest.

Everyone in my house has had it over the last couple of weeks, was day 10 yesterday for me and had a hardly visible positive line on the test.
I had one day where I felt awful and had a lay down for and hour the rest was mainly aches and getting out of breath easy and really tired. Still not 100% got a few aches and pains if I over do it(which isn't very often according to my Mrs😕). Not as bad as I feared for the last 2 years but still not nice. My partners 90 Yr old nan had it and and was fine and my 6 month old was fine with it, the worst was my 2 year old ended up getting tonsillitis straight after COVID(not sure if it was linked with her being run down after COVID) and she was worse with that.

First time for me, noticed cough Fridays night. Really lethargic on a morning, occasional headache and stuffy nose.

Gastro virus 2 weeks was about 3 times worse for myself. Glad I’m young and vaccines in me
