I agree locking down earlier would have saved thousands, but back then no one was paying it any attention and mass gatherings were still being allowed, as well as air travel with no precautions.For the same reason if we locked down earlier we would have had less deaths.
If you have 1000 people let loose with the virus, they will infect more people than 100 people would. This is also going to coincide with vulnerable people going back to work.
*numbers were an example.
I'm not saying there couldn't be a second wave (although I've heard some scientists say it isn't likely and is a myth based on Spanish Flu), but even if there was, with all the new measures, I don't see how it could be 'bigger'.
