Coronavirus it's not gone away

Totally agree. I think we have opened up far too early just for the sake of the economy and not the potential of many more lives being lost. I think we can live without nail barns, barbers and bars for now.

Aye those of you who are retired can.

Unfortunately I've got bills to pay so unless any of you are going to volunteer to pay those for me then you might be able to live without them but millions can't.

Randy I am on a Zero hour contract for a driver agency, I get nowt from the Government or the Agency when I don't work. I have a little set aside but it's what it is, I would rather be alive than put myself at risk in a crowded pub for a few ales.
Except you'll see that the well ran pubs aren't crowded at all. We had to turn people away on Sunday who only wanted a drink as we had no tables for them. Standing at the bar isn't allowed for example.

If you aren't visiting the pub or a restaurant then I don't see why you'd be bothered by people who are? I also don't understand why you have an issue with people who work in these venues earning money instead of relying on state handouts?

I think the reason people are bothered is the risk of spreading especially indoors. Those people who go to pubs and restaurants also go to supermarkets and other shops where those that don’t attend pubs for now also go. It is so tough on everyone in different ways.

The economy has to open up and your industry is huge for the economy and I don’t envy those in it at present, its tough. As I said before, its human behaviours visiting them not those that run it that are the concern

There's a growing view that the virus isn't just spread by droplets but there is also an airborne risk in enclosed spaces. Where countries have opened up (Israel, Romania, Bulgaria, USA) there has been a large increase in cases.

It will a lawsuit minfield if they trace it back to a place and the young uns had passed it on to an aged relative, the insurances will sky rocket shortly.

Our company wont have anybody on site but us maintenance and contractors keeping plant running, they will review it in November. It employs 5000, they are all working from home but 30 of us, but expect big lay off shortly.

There is no doubt that older people are at risk. They need to be careful, their families need to be careful, and they need to protect themselves diligently. But how much longer can you expect kids to stay off school? A serious percentage of their lives has already been affected by this, they need an education and they need to socialise, for their own development. They are owed that.

They are owed it by who?
Philosophically yes but if anyone thinks this government gives a flying firk about educating those on Teesside and beyond then Johnson et al have done a brilliant PR job.

Spot on.

Nobody is forcing anybody to go anywhere they don't want to.
We also don't know who works or has visited a hospital or a care home and we could encounter those folks in a supermarket or another indoor setting. This has been going on since the very beginning but of course pubs and bars will get the thick end of the stick as usual.

The average age of ICU admissions in southern USA was about 35 over a two week period. Statistically few will die but statistically there will be longer term health issues for many of these people after the virus has attacked viral organs.

This is not a great position to be in but suppressing the virus to a point that track and trace is effective may be the only way out.

How convenient. If it's airborne then why the social distancing and why the cloth masks one would ask as neither will help if virus is airborne.

By all of us. People need to take responsibility for their own actions now. If you're retired and you can stop in, and don't invite anyone round, you won't catch it, regardless of your age. Anything beyond that has to be a judgement call you are responsible for, if you're older or carrying an illness. The government can't change that. There is no panic buying going on, the delivery shopping is back to normal. There will be a small handful of people who can't get anyone to shop for them and they will have to act accordingly, but stopping a 6 year old from using a roundabout isn't going to help them.

Listening to the radio a few have taken names and addresses and been diligent they had people going around to other pubs who didnt have masks take a name or anything.

I think the young uns will keep the pubs busy.
