Coronavirus it's not gone away

There is no doubt that older people are at risk. They need to be careful, their families need to be careful, and they need to protect themselves diligently. But how much longer can you expect kids to stay off school? A serious percentage of their lives has already been affected by this, they need an education and they need to socialise, for their own development. They are owed that.
It's a sad reflection on our social priorities when the government choose to open much of the service industry before schools.

Do we really think its more important for the nation to get a pint before an education?

How convenient. If it's airborne then why the social distancing and why the cloth masks one would ask as neither will help if virus is airborne.
It's still disputed and you're right. Indoor social distancing and hand washing will have limited effectiveness, but . . . droplet infection still occurs. Meat and clothing factory break outs and weddings etc.where large numbers get affected may be due to this source of infection.

No, but I suppose the schools problem is more to do with social distancing/capacity. Pubs will also be affected by capacity constraints.

The schools have always been open apparently, at least according to evidence used in Simon Dolan's court proceedings.

I wouldn't bother mate.

It's been found on here that any doctors, scientists or other medical professional's evidence that state something different to the media narrative will automatically be declared wrong, a conspiracy theory or just ramblings.

What you see on the BBC and ITV with regards to covid-19 is all that matters, everything else is a lie.

😉

By opening up with infection rates as they are, we risk a much bigger second wave. I really hope that somehow we avoid that fate.

Unfortunately, thats what the government seem to be relying on too.

I'm pretty sure the schools could have opened if the government had applied more effort to do so.
Well maybe, but not sure how they'd have addressed the capacity issue.

I actually think we'll be ok now as long as we keep mass gatherings (sports/gig crowds) off the table for the rest of the year. Reassess once winter's passed is the idea I guess.

Why would we have a 'bigger' second wave? If there was a second wave at all.

Capacity issues - off the top of my head,
New prefabs
Marquees
Portacabins

If you care enough - you find a way

The Public school lot will be fine btw

Fair enough. I thought some were already having to do all that but still couldn't squeeze them all in.

Why would we have a 'bigger' second wave? If there was a second wave at all.

For the same reason if we locked down earlier we would have had less deaths.

If you have 1000 people let loose with the virus, they will infect more people than 100 people would. This is also going to coincide with vulnerable people going back to work.

*numbers were an example.

Not a fan of the government but I don't think they're stopping kids going back to school.
