His majority would have counted for nothing if it hadn't been for Labour in the recent lockdown vote. The Tory Party will tear itself apart over anything it seems.
I dont want to write Biden off, I dont necessarily think he'll be the best president ever, but at least they've got rid of the worst and right now, that's the crucial point
Biden will be a transitional president and I believe there's much good he can and will do to build a broken America, so best wishes to him, I genuinely hope he's successful in post. As for 45, good riddance to bad rubbish

I’ll say again I’m no fan of boris but My point is that boris isn’t the issue it’s the Tory party Itself as would you rather Rees mogg or gove.
There is no trump party Is my point he was the poison as once he’s gone the Republican Party I think themselves will distance himself from him.
It’s a different system here you can’t compare.

Oh of course we can compare. Has nothing to do with the system and more the human. Personally it’s a trite argument. Is Boris as bad as Donald? Well the impact of their policies will be the true arbiter in the end.
I know what you are saying. That the Presidential position gives ultimate power in one man that Johnson doesn’t have and Trump was abusing that power. But as personal characteristics there’s a lot to compare.

Ok Let me put it another way trump was not not and never had been a Republican, so he never came through the ranks of the Republican Party he was never a governor or senator or house rep he’ll he’d never ran even so much as a pta meeting before he won the election. He stole the nominee from genuine republicans like jeb bush like ted Cruz like Rubio etc
Boris IS a Tory though and has been his whole life it’s an ideology, and it’s that ideology that’s the issue in this country. Remove Boris and nothing would change as gove or rabb or Patel etc would take over.
That is the difference.

Johnson isn't just a bad Tory. Despite Johnson’s apparent party loyalty I only have to point to his decision to change his mind suddenly on his views on the European Union. As recently as 2015 he was making statements saying we shouldn't think about leaving the EU. As the opportunist he is he defied his own beliefs for personal gain. He doesn’t think like a Tory he thinks about himself and his own career. His personal morality alone says a lot about Boris Johnson.
He has got rid of all the balanced thinking Colleagues and surrounded himself with yes men. That is his ultimate weakness and will be his downfall in the end.

I believe it would be in everybody’s interests including that of the Tories to ditch Johnson ASAP. He is rapidly becoming a huge liability to the Tories (and perversely and ironically an asset to Labour).

Johnson is neither use nor ornament precisely because - like Trump - he believes in nothing. He doesn't believe in brexit but rather leapt on the passing bandwagon because it got him the job he craved. Except he doesn't really want that either. He wants the position alright but he certainly doesn't want to do the job.
I really believe he thought he'd step into Downing Street and be universally loved. That's why he tried to be some kind of Churchillian figure at the onset of Covid-19, but he has been found out within a year of taking the job. He's an entertainer, a kind of Lord Charles-made-flesh figure, with a fatal flaw - his craving for attention and adoration. It's all he has inside. He's a hollow man.

This is all true but unlike removing trump, removing borris would nit change a thing as would you feel safer if it was gove or Patel or Rees mogg were to replace him ???
