Let’s hope that this marks a turning point and the rejection of the politics of division, fear and hate, let’s hope that Biden is a President who delivers his promises and contributes to making the world a less extreme and better place, let’s hope that this is the end of Trumpism and a U-turn on the dangerous path that cultist politics can lead to, let’s hope that decency, integrity and honesty can become the tools of the political trade and that corruption, fecklessness and deceit are no longer seen as acceptable.

The scars of the Trump presidency will take time to heal and both sides need to show restraint and clear heads in shifting American politics into calmer waters and learn from the lessons on how to stop somebody so completely unsuited to be President of any country ever getting into high office ever again.
