Club Shop...Jeeeeeeez

The shame is that I couldn't get what I wanted online but could get a similar item shipped from China within 10 days.

Would have paid the full whack but couldn't.

Yep in 86 the club nearly died,

I know you're just being 'you' but surely that's the exact same point?

The club couldn't sustain itself as it was poorly run and not maximising the revenue streams from it's available support?

It seems pretty evident from how the club shop is stocked, the badge, the ticket offers etc there is little to no appetite to do our absolute best in these areas.

That's okay you saying that because they still have the 6XL in stock but the rest of us aren't so lucky.

To be fair, I'm normally an XL but based on some our recent kits I'd need (the size they call) 6XL to actually feel comfortable. If you don't have a completely flat stomach these shirts can be absolutely brutal.

I wanted to buy my son a mini home kit for his 2nd birthday. They’ve sold out of 3-4 (the size he needs). I added my email address so I’m notified when it’s back in stock. It’s been a month now, and still not in.

Not sure I’ll bother now as have missed the summer holidays and nicer weather in September for him to wear it. Also missed a chunk of the season it is the home kit!

I've stopped going in. I used to like buying for family at Xmas and Birthdays but they never have the sizes.
I once asked for 2 full kits for my nephews , the best they could do was one shirt for the eldest nephew and a pair of shorts for the youngest.
They were helpful with the socks though. Told me to ring Doncaster Rovers who apparently had the same socks as us.
You would think they would be stocked up for Xmas.

Ive been away at work so not had chance to get the away kit, theres also no guarantee it will restock either. Last season the home shirt was out of stock before Christmas and never restocked, the amount of people who may have bought the shirt later in the season due to the run we where having and couldn't is mind blowing. What else is mind blowing is the fact you'll be able to get one for 1/5 of the price in less than two weeks and it will be of similar quality and if it doesn't take well to say 5/6 washes you can buy another 4 brand new ones throughout the season and only just spend as much as one from the club shop!

Just been in the Club Shop. Where to start? - cheap looking, badly made, old fashioned tat...with that dreadful badge splattered on everything.
Do we send retail experts to peer review other clubs' shops? (think I can guess the answer!).
Asked for medium away shirt.. "we don't have any in that size". I said "I know it's absolutely not your fault, but to not have standard sizes available, this early into a season, is a corner shop operation"
A lady overheard me and asked if it was medium they didn't have, I confirmed and we both left without spending any money. Our entire retail operation, including concourses, needs a major overhaul, it really does.
Seems like you weren’t the only one, unless this is you 😂

So too is being able to buy refreshments in the concourse.
The concourse queues have done my head in for years because it’s not an impossible conundrum.

Install more machines, hire double the staff, pre-pour loads of pints and keep pre-pouring them. Staff for one are getting paid about £30, that’s profit margins on about eight pints. Hire more.

I’ve been to countless stadiums where there’s no queue at all for food and drinks. The rush periods are at entirely predictable times (2.30-3pm and 3.45-4pm) and the demand level is entirely predictable, it’s clockwork. If you can’t organise that to go smoothly and keep up with demand without people having to wait for 20 minutes, you’re not looking hard enough.

As a club we’ve always struggled with the basics and the aesthetics we don’t seem to care wether it’s peeling white paint or faded seats we don’t seem to have pride in present the club in a certain way.

Club shop is the ultimate face of this.
