Chris Wilder Pre Swansea Press Conference on Friday

Like Jordan said Wilder disappeared up his own backside years ago. I’ve lost all respect for him. I’d have rather finished midtable with Warnock who at least respected Gibbo and the fans than finishing midtable after this idiot has ruined our season by flirting with Burnley.
But he didn't though did he? Because Jordan said said so doesn't make true

We wouldn’t have finished mid table.. 6th or 7th - most likely on 72 points

I have no doubt what so ever we would have benefited from the return of our first choice back four a free agent and a fit for purpose January transfer window and no cup runs.

That would've taken a dramatic upturn in Warnock's points per game, it's absolute fantasy really but I admire your audacity

But they cleared out the entire first team back room team - Steve Agnew was an experienced coach and had been part of Aitor's staff. I don't see how it can make any sense to take out every familiar face during a season. Continuity seemed to be their cornerstone.
Agree Rob.

It’s so so rare a manager gets replaced without someone being lined up, or at least sounded out first.

Even Gibson, who plays with the straightest bat there is, freely admits to tapping up Wilder in the summer and again a few weeks before he gave Warnock the bullet.

I’d go as far as to say if you’re a multi-million pound business of a Premier League club with six games left to save your season, and fire your manager and all his staff without having someone lined up to come straight in, you don’t deserve to be a Premier League club anymore. Or it suggests there was a massive blowup behind the scenes.

FWIW I have a theory about wilders answer to the ‘question’ after Huddersfield.
He was fuming with so much rage with the players after that display (that he wasn’t expecting) so much so he actually couldn’t bring to think about continuing working with them - that he thought the large majority of them were fannies and he can’t abide that in his team’s. Therefore in the aftermath of that result he just felt like he wanted to tell them all he’s had it with them and didn’t want work with wimps (but obviously couldn’t) and therefore couldn’t bring himself to rule out burnley because in that moment he actually felt like fcuking off.
All well and good but then the next day you tell the gazette your staying and kill all thr speculation.

I think Wilder had spoken with Burnley with an arrangement for next season, Dyche found out and either walked or was sacked with a payoff and NDA, that would explain why no-one was in place. I think CW had hoped to give us a good Cup run and at least into the playoffs. It all blew up with Dyche leaving and us losing last Monday. He was clearly a man who looked very troubled on Monday. When interviewed he couldn't say he wasn't approached because he was, he couldn't say he wasn't interested in the job because he was which would explain his evasivness I think Dyche finding out brought everything forward.

If there was nothing in this story he would have called an interview on Tues and apologised for his evasiveness stating he was upset at losing the game but just to clarify he was/wasn't approached but was committed to the job he was doing at MFC. He hasn't done that so IMO he isn't. UTMB

But surely the priority for Burnley is staying up. Why would they jeopardise that? I think you are giving too much credit to a Burnley chairman that doesnt have a clue.

It's all supposition i know. The statement from Burnley re Dyche said We are parting company. That suggests Dyche walked/resigned or was sacked. I don't give any credit to Mr Pace rather his hand was forced IMO.

I mean.. this explains a lot. Weird how their is NOTHING coming out of the Burnley camp and it’s the full back room team gone. Weird how Wilder has been overly evasive over a straight forward question.. over and over again. Simon Jordan being so OTT about Chris Wilder and specific about him meeting with Burnley recently.

Too much has not been said for nothing to be going on. Bookies odds are crazy high in favour of Wilder being the next Burnley manager.. and for a relatively long time. Normally there would be a fair bit of fluctuation. a PR nightmare with season ticket renewals still going on, a large amount of fans buying into the Chris Wilder project.

OOF!! Just tear the plaster off for cripes sake!! Daniel Farke in, compo sorted, on we roll..

I think he wants to leave, whether he will remains to be seen, but it's like players in the same position, it's pointless trying to hang onto those who want to go.
It would be a rediculous move for him though, wouldn't it? I don't think McClaren ever truly recovered after tarting himself around, it showed he had no respect for clubs, fans or chairmen. That always limited his future options. Ambition is good when controlled, but unbridled ambition is an ugly trait, it makes you untrustworthy. He would immediately put himself into a **** or bust scenario with Burnley, enormous pressures that could break his career.

It best go well for him at Burnley quickly, as they’ve overachieved with Dyche massively. He could very well get them back up but they walk out at Boro might affect his championship job interviews after he is sacked at Burnley. Which will happen.

I don't think anyone really knew about it until afterwards, McClaren's performance as England manager is what put him off English clubs, be did well at FC Twente.. not so much at Wolfsburg, or Forest, did OK back at Twente, alright at Derby-ish Dreadfully at Newcastle, meh at Derby again, then struggled at QPR - he's a good coach and will do well as Assistant at Man Utd imo

If Burnley as a premier league club come in with an offer that is too good to turn down wages wise for him and compensation wise for us.. then it will go ahead.

Daniel Farke will come in, arms round Kieran Scott ' The Dream Team Reunited' - Brand new Errea kit in tow.. Gazette puff piece about boro's finest moments with Errea, Kieran Scott's bargain basement all stars, and Daniel Farke's two promotions with Norwich.. in Errea gear. EFL Championship Manager of the Season - 97 points

Went on to be England manager didn't he ?

one that was never accepted, from day one he was failing to get England fans on side. It was ego and ambition that made him think he could do the job, and deep down, I think that is why he was so disliked by many England fans.
