Chris Wilder Pre Swansea Press Conference on Friday

Should be fairly busy I would have thought.
Goals

Clean sheets

Suspensions & injuries

summer transfer window.

the other nonsense about answering a daft question 20 minutes after a devastating defeat at home by a club we played off the park at their ground & won 3-1 - a failed football chairman turned talk schytte shock jock with an axe to grind and spinning a slanderous lie - and a not transparent bookies index is best left for those with a fetish around disliking Middlesbrough FC and getting moist over adding to our woes by attacking the managers character .

Chris Wilder has made it very clear repeatedly since last november that he is a club man, a team man and that he is here at Boro working with Alan Knill, Scott and Steve Gibson for the long term - how work is ongoing for the summer and that some will be staying on the journey and some will move on, the commitment has been said many times - its well recorded in numerous press conferences.

i know it was Easter last weekend, but the amount of Doubting Thomas's and those doing a very poor impersonation of Judas Iscariot has been taken to another level - you have to wonder who is paying the 12 pieces of silver !?.

quite shameful.

I'm backing Chris Wilder 100%.

I‘ll bet you’ll all be told not to ask any questions that relate to Burnley (unless they appoint someone beforehand) I’d hazard a guess that if anyone did they’d likely be then banned from Rockliffe and the video edited accordingly 😉
If he doesn’t answer it first of the bat.. I wouldn’t bother asking anything else.

I doubt that. Things are not that strict. For instance someone asked about Neil Warnock's retirement last week and Wilder said "No Comment." The Q and A might not make the final edit for transmission.
But it is interesting that it appears to be business as usual. If Burnley are serious about their intentions of staying in the Premier League then you really wouldn't think it a good idea taking another week and going another fixture without a manager, assistant manager, first team coach and goalkeeper coach. It is quite ridiculous. Remember it is their U23 and Academy staff as well as onfield skipper in charge at the moment.

seems madness from them. Why would they sack the manager at such a vital time without someone to replace him? The fact that Wilder is still with us a week later makes me think that if he is the man they want, he isn't interested.

We made Gareth Southgate our full time manager. Also Steve Agnew & Jonathan Woodgate! Pretty sure they’ll be fine for a few games.. with OUR Paul Jenkins

Why? Is CW not able to handle answering any questions at all ? Very easy to answer.
The club have already answered for him via the Gazette. I understand we all want to hear him say it himself. For all we know he might have a clause in his contract relating to being allowed to talk to other clubs.

The conference is supposed to be about MFC v Swansea, not Burnley. Neither he nor the club will want any distractions. He is on record as saying he tells it as it is and i doubt he will want to talk about the managerial vacancy at another club Whether he is in for it or not. He is currently odds on 1/3 with Skybet yet only evens with Billy Hills. The bookies don’t know, the odds just reflect their risk on bets taken.

FWIW, I think he will be here next season, I certainly hope so.

His time has changed to be fair..
Doubting Thomas's and those doing a very poor impersonation of Judas Iscariot
He’s not the messiah.. he’s a very naughty boy!
quite shameful.
No it’s not. Supporters who care about their club.
I'm backing Chris Wilder 100%.
I hope he can do the same in return!

But they cleared out the entire first team back room team - Steve Agnew was an experienced coach and had been part of Aitor's staff. I don't see how it can make any sense to take out every familiar face during a season. Continuity seemed to be their cornerstone.

See what you mean but the manager will always be asked about more than the next match. Let's see what happens. But maybe the panic is subsiding?

We’ll see. I hope you’re right.

Wilder would be an obvious choice as were Burnley to be relegated, they would then have a man who knows the Championship well, been promoted and has insider knowledge of all our future business. There would have to be negotiations between the clubs, compensation, intellectual property clauses all sorts of risk minimised by Boro, that takes time. It would be a stupid time to release him were he wanting to go, with a vital window coming up and all the work done for next season to date being at some risk.

He will have a notice period, were he to walk away he could not start the job till the gardening leave period was completed. I don’t see Wilder as the type to do that in any event, it wouldn’t help Burnley short term, but we also don’t know if he has any clauses in his contract that permits him leaving. The silence is the elephant in the room, Boro have history of not discussing speculation or till situations are finalised which is why i think there may be an embargo on the matter, if there isn’t then I don’t think there is anything in it.

I’m sure they can put together a back room team in the interim. Mike Jackson has more coaching experience than Gareth Southgate and Jonathan Woodgate had.

I’d see Ben Mee over Robbie Keane as assistant everyday of the week!

Yes I see what you are saying. I have an invite but haven't been told any special instructions.

I wouldn’t expect any instructions issued till people were actually at the press conference. If it is just business as usual there probably wont be. There is 2 days till the press conference and if there is anything in it, it would be a fluid situation beforehand. Let’s hope it is speculation and nothing more. Like I say, I think he’ll be staying, I hope so anyway.

How would you frame it if you were first up and had to ask ‘THE QUESTION’?
Personally I’d be subtle about it not mentioning Burnley at all.

I’d say something like. We all hope we reach the play-offs and achieve promotion, but if we were to slip up on route would you be quietly confident of guiding Middlesbrough up next season?
