Chelsea Pre-Match Atmosphere

I’m wondering if anyone has heard whether there’s plans for a pre-match atmosphere for the Chelsea match next week, similar to what we had in the play-offs last season?

Given that it’s only 5 days away I’m surprised I haven’t heard anything and I feel like the build up to the game has generally been a bit flat.

It’s such a shame because it’s our first semi final cup tie in 20 years.

If anything is being planned then I’d love to donate /volunteer to put flags out etc because an atmosphere similar to Coventry could maybe spur the players on!

We haven't beaten Chelsea since the days of Viduka and co have we? and 9/10 times they would probably give us a footballing lesson so maybe that's why things are abit flat heading towards the game and not many people actually believe we can take a lead to Stamford Bridge (but we can hope)

this game might come off the back of a drubbing from the Villa too, so maybe fans are waiting to see what happens with this game first

I was looking at ticket sales and there seems to be a lot left for a semi final. You would have thought they would have sold out by now.

Doesn’t look like it. Atmosphere at the Riverside has gone downhill this season for some reason, despite good attendances.
Agree. Almost all home games the atmosphere hasn’t been great. The Red Faction are almost doing it by themselves. Most of the time the rest of the South Stand don’t even bother joining in. The Coventry game was the worst it has been for many years.

Couple of games earlier in the season were absolutely great, Birmingham and Leicester I think. But then it's gone dead flat again.🤷

Because we have one song about a right winger and another one again that includes a certain right winger and someone who scores belters apparently all the time

Yeah it's got a bit of a shelf life that Rogers one. The games where the atmosphere is good are when we sing the old Ayresome Park classics. Might be old but they get everyone going!

I'm surprised and disappointed how slowly these are selling co.pared to how quick the play off semi final tickets sold. Its looking like there's no chance of a sell out.

Really disappointing given we would take 30k+ to a final at Wembley no problem.

They only go on genuine general sale at 12pm today, and they only went on sale to all who have previously bought a ticket online yesterday.

Still plenty of time for people to get a ticket.

Hadn't realised they hadn't hit general sale yet. Thought they were already there. Fingers crossed for a big surge in ticket sales over the weekend then. 🙏🏻

MFC could probably have put more effort in to promoting it.

I think the capitulation on Monday will have put a few off as well.

It's one of our biggest matches in 20 years, so hopefully people turn out, I'll be disappointed if we don't sell out.

most the Ayresome songs appear to have been consigned to history, now and again the odd one resurfaces

There's a lad at the back of block 26 who sings his heart out all game (sadly on his own) not a single person joins in with his chants

I'd hope there would be a pre-match atmosphere, bring your best set of vocal chords and sing to your heart's content.

In all seriousness, we didn't need light shows or even flag displays in the European years. All we needed was belief and passion from the Boro faithful. I can't be there on Tuesday night, but I don't think I've been this excited for a Boro game in quite some time. It's fans' responsibility to make the Riverside a cauldron on Tuesday, like they did in 98 against Liverpool, like we did against Brighton. We have the power to be the twelfth man on that pitch - use it.
