As I said above, the part of TS5 that is towards that end of the town.

The thread is about TS1 but somebody mentioned how Linthorpe is being affected. I just added my experience of it to support his comment.

It's the same across lots of Teesside as well as across the UK and the wider world

Yes I got that my comment was a reply to ctc comments on linthorpe.
I don't see a massive decline in linthorpe, a few issues but nothing major IMO

I lived in linthorpe off and on for 50 years and whilst there's a few things have got worse nothing drastic, I think it's a good place to live ,the cemetery and albert park seem better looked after than any other time thos century.
Persian cottage the vine etc have improved the area.
There's been a few car brake ins lately but that was also happening 30 years ago.
I had 2 cars stolen in linthorpe in the 90s but nothing touch wood since.
There's a bit less community spirit and knowing your neighbours but is that any different to other parts of the country?
Of course other people's experiences might be different I can only talk of mine and other family members in the area

Like I said earlier, we had people running over the roofs of cars, kicking off wing mirrors, a literal gang fight on Roman Road, more dog muck, litter everywhere, fly tipping at the back of our house etc.

Very noticeable decline over last few years, in exactly the same way things started to decline when we lived on Crescent Road.

Not that long ago gangs of youths were roaming parts of middlesbrough carry baseball bats attacking people.
I don't feel any less safe walking that area than I would have 30 years ago.
As I said above the litter is a big problem and they seems to be a bigger drug problem, which doesn't seem as prevalent in the imigrant population to be fair.

What evidence do you have that the drug problem is not as prevalent in the "immigrant" population? Second time you've made that claim but no evidence to support it.

As for the cheap brown faces jibe, the whole point of starting this thread was the shame of a Boro shopkeeper of Pakistani origin having to put razor wire inside his shop to protect himself and his family business. Comments like that are totally out of sync with highlighting the decline of these areas.

By the people I see on a daily basis staggering around spaced out on drugs, I have seen hundreds over the years.
Not once seen anyone who wasn't white , same with those asking for 20p for a bus.
Do you see different?
What I do see on sites like teesside live as soon as there's a negative article on that area I read people piling in blames the imigrant population.

I was born in Bow street in 1960.You could leave your doors open then. Chris Kamara lived round the corner.

How an area has fallen to this I don't know.

What does skin colour have to do with it? There are Eastern European immigrants as well who you might class as "white". I see no reason to bring skin colour into this thread.

Skin colour has nothing to do with drug pushing full stop. If you're a drug pusher, you're a drug pusher.

The Gazette/Teesside Live is barely even legible nowadays, can't be bothered to scroll past the endless video pop ups.
 
Every single person i've ever seen off their face in town, stumbling about, spitting and causing a proper nuisance in town, has been white.

Those non-white i see, just keep themselves to themselves unless im missing something.
 
I used to get this immigrant stuff in my old estate in central stockton bowesfield lane area. Immigrants in gangs, causing trouble, violence, drugs etc

Every issue i had there in the 12 years I lived there was caused by white youths, both male and female, with English accents

Worst trouble from the Romanians was then going through your bin for stuff to sell, never had any bother.

£6k of camera gear stolen and fenced for £50 by a white English woman who fed kids through a tiny window opening

I remember having an argument on here because someone told me it was a lovely area and I was making up being burgled, having 3 bikes stolen and I was lying about police in our street/area all the time, was a bizarre thread.

Am sure some crime does come from them but for me it was deprived / addicted white English people, and the kids they raised, that terrorised our street

I was referring to users not pushers, fair comment on the white Eastern Europeans , though the ones I hear speak have teesside accents.
