That's not a bad idea but I think we need to simplify things. Maybes left boob pass, right boob shoot, both boobs remember to mark your player at a free kick.

We need someone who gets angry and shouts! We need someone passionate, who treats the game like a war, not a sport. The last person I can think of was Huth. Our defence is squishy. I have no idea who's around that we could attract. I'm sure newyddion does though!

Woodgate was a defensive genius, Carrick was one of the best captains around.. pretty sure I,ve seen Grant Leadbitter get angry and shout.
We need to do the best with what we have right now. I firmly believe that Dijksteel & Bola should be involved in our back four. Attracting quality in January is going to be difficult..

Woodgate was an amazing defender for us. Even at the end of his playing career and he'd slowed down a bit, he read the game so well he didn't need to be quick.
We really need another Leadbitter. He was vocal, he was a leader. Whenever the ball hit his feet he just started driving forward. He's a rare gem.
Everyone's really negative right now, but I don't think we're a million miles away from being decent.
Do you really think we can't attract quality? I don't know if I've been too enthusiastic about this, but I honestly thought Carrick would would help put us back on the map.

We’re not a million miles away.. but we do need bodies in midfield.
I do think we can attract quality, Balogun, Bolasie, Nmecha, Obi Mikel, Harrison, Bamford all from previous January windows. Carrick will be a pull for younger players and I think the championship is a better league than SPL, MLS and League One
£10m on a striker in the championship is crazy. I hope we use the money wisely in January reinforcing our midfield.. then in the summer maybe look to loan in some exciting attacking players..

Our midfield isn't great. We have a couple that have been good servants to the club, but their time is up. I think we're doing ok for strikers for the first time in years. They'd do so much better if our midfield didn't plod.

And Tav! That was a huge mistake. I know we got decent money for him. I rated him but thought he was just an eye-catching player that knocked in the odd goal. I think missing the energy he brought is a big reason we're in a bit of bother.

I sometimes wonder, what must Leadbitter think watching this set of defenders trying to deal with a set piece? What must Woodgate think when he sees the same players failing to win headers and mark their man week after week? What must Carrick and Leadbitter think of our midfield?
Centre back and two midfielders in in January, a player to link the midfield and attack if possible. But PLEASE work on shoring up the gaping holes right the spine of our team FFS.

The defending of set pieces isn't something that they'll have only just recognised is a problem and thought 'gosh, we better start on some drills for set pieces'.
Wilder will have identified it as a problem and will have been trying to sort it for months and months.
Unfortunately, our players can't be coached to be better at it because they have zero intelligence, lack quality and are thick.
Didn't Wilder openly call them unintelligent? Would have been tongue in cheek but he'll have 100% thought that about them.
Same mistake after same mistake after same mistake.
Stoke last minute, Watford last minute, Preston last minute... balls into the box to unmarked players.
Absolutely gormless. Like you say, Woodgate, Carrick and Leadbitter must think 'dear me....'.

It’s more what he thinks of players who are consistently caught on the wrong side of their man, and who can’t mark a man properly. This used to happen under Mogga; it was a shambles at the back.
Carrick has to do what Karanka did and sort the defence out. Keep the clean sheet, build the confidence, and then the points and wins will come.
I’m not really fussed on having Carrick coming in and trying to turn us into Ajax or Zdenek Zeman’s Foggia. The better football comes once you’re tight at the back and everyone knows their jobs.
We have to keep a clean sheet tomorrow night. That has to be the main aim IMO.
