Carrick after match comments

I think it's time Garrick followed what his mentor(Fergy) did, and refuse to give interviews. Leave it to the players to tell them how it is in the post match interviews. I would love it, but it's unlikely to happen because of contractual obligations I guess.
We had them where we wanted them for 65 minutes, still had opportunities after going 1-2 down. It wasn't to be, and I'm sure the players know they should have done a lot better. Just glad there wasn't as much booing as we had after the Ipswich game. It does no good at all, it's due to the injuries and better players missing.
As far as I'm aware [Rob might correct me if I'm wrong] the Head Coach has no formal obligation to give post-match interviews. He can send out any player he choses / or not, to be in front of the camera, and local radio can request an interview - but they aren't automatically entitled.

Didn't Carrick say pre-season that automatic promotion was the target? To the players and then Jones told the press?
Fair enough. I'll be honest I missed that.

Pretty overambitious I would have thought, given the general consensus that the squad is poorer and the league is tougher than last season.

Depends on the cycle really doesn't it. When he joined the club I would have suggested last season was a bit of a free hit (effectively keep us up) with a three year cycle starting this year targeting the autos. As such, play offs this season would be likely an overachievement, but should definitely be the target next year.

Some fans crave negativity..
Can you imagine how happy some would be if MC said we were rubbish , I have no hope, season is over etc

I think he is a great manager with a average squad
And doing well ...
As a club if we don't invest in players I think MC will be away like the others.

We have had some big name managers 😜at the Club but for some reason it's never happened.

The Promise of new top draw players just doesn't happen window after window..

Monk
Strachen
Mowbray
Wilder
Warnock
McLaren
Karanka
Pulis

All had success at other clubs 😁

Carrick is the man to get us back winning. I have full belief in him. Hoping he’s learned his lesson in regards to being a bit more proactive. It doesn’t help when you have no one on the bench to help change things of any real quality.

From yesterday's media conference.
Carrick agrees with you

It would be nice to have more options in games, wouldn't it?

" Of course, it would be `nice` because the boys are good players [looks straight at reporter] you know. Having said that, the boys that are in the squad….they are good players as well, and I've said that. That's the difficulty when talking about the injured players: it almost feels like `oh the injured players are missing so its kind of your weakened team` [!] But, for me, it's certainly not the weakened team [looks straight at the reporter] or weakened individuals. It's more of the chopping and changing really that has effected us a little bit more, in terms of finding our rhythm and connections…..that I've spoken about in the last couple of weeks, so individually, we're good and collectively as a team...we're good. [Our] options in terms of variety, that's limited a little bit, but [we'll] certainly make the best of it, as I keep telling you. "
