Cameron Archer

The last 3 CF loan signings from top flight clubs haven’t been a roaring success to say the least, not sure why most people are convinced this will be any different?
Successful loan with Preston in a struggling/average team.
Connolly was a bad loan from the off. Balogun looked decent, then when he started to find his feet Wilder dropped him.
Preston fan I work with rates him highly, they tried to get him on a season long loan in the summer but Villa weren't having any of it. Obviously things have changed at Villa and he's been allowed another loan.
Be decent cover for Crooks 👍

dunno what to think tbh I think I would prefer if there was no window at all and keep what we have be very worried that we upset the momentum we have atm with a couple of dodgy signings or new bodies upsetting the team, if it ain't broken and all that!

Makes financial sense to bring in Barlaser for buttons, Archer in on loan.. and one other
Knowing that we were prepared to spend circa 8m on a CF in the summer, then maybe we will have space for one big signing?

Personally I'd look to bring Traore home, ok, would usually be out of our price range, but he's out of contract in 5 months, meaning he's probably available for about 8m, and I'd be prepared to sell Jones to fund him. I can dream can't I :D Archer supported by Traore, Akpom and McGree, the dream ticket

Rather sign Giles. Aren't Spurs 'monitoring' Traore to sign on a free?

I loved Traore and want to see him do well.. can’t see us going back in for him mind.

Besides Jones is our main guy now

Looked like we were gonna waste a bunch of money last summer Onyenka, Onomah, Larsen & Surridge.

Barlaser, Hackney, Archer & Stewart look to be more cost effective

Mr Archer uses same agency as Giles, McGree , Roberts and Sivi and if he were to come that would make Unique Sports group the most represented at our club. So we'd definitely be contributing to their office, cake and biscuits friday club.

Surely Archer would be instead of Stewart?

Jones isn’t our ‘main guy’. Last two games have shown that. Will be very lucky to get a starting place back and no chance a premier league club is coming in for him any time soon.

Palace are one of several clubs that have monitored him and shown interest for a while. I agree he isn't our main man, he's living off 2 good months last season

The - very little - I've seen of him he looked a proper finisher. Would be ok with him if it's accurate

Traore 61 league appearances
Jones 67 league appearances

He’s our main guy the last two games are exactly that..

thats bolloks, even when struggling for form he has still been giving defenders nightmares. he just needs a bit of a break. take a step back and out of the pressure cooker. he'll come back stronger.

it's not bollox, his form particularly at the beginning of the season wasn't great, and he's struggled to adapt to the outright winger role. Plenty of players have had a great break through season followed by never really living up to it again for various reasons.

I hope he comes back, but he really hasn't given defenders nightmares this season, he's had a few good moments but he's played a lot of minutes, so you'd expect some. His defending in particular this season has been bad

We play with 3 forwards so villa will expect him to get more time here than at a team where it’s one up top. He’s going to have to be good to dislodge the current set we’ve got though - and that’s with Jones on the bench

If we were to go up in the summer maybe Traore could come back to the place where he felt the love. It'd be amazingly ambitious but could you imagine?
