Cagliari in for Payero!

Roughly translates as, after the Olympic Games he will travel to England. Presumably a relative, brother maybe

Sardinia has a pleasant climate for most of the year, like Majorca, but it is a bit cut off and quiet in the winter. Caglairi is quite sedate, its not a party place, Med cruise ship drop off passengers for the day to visits cafes, shops and Roman ruins. On the outskirts there are oil refineries. The main touristy bit is in the North of the Island - several hours drive away, where well to do Italians go on holiday in August. The authorities did not want it to develop like Spain's mass market for tourists.

A lot of young people have left the Island because of a lack of permanent work, like one of my sister in laws. Its a different world from say Milan or Rome.

I dare say he grew up in a warm climate and Hel spend most of his life in one so The experience of a different culture and the wonders of Teesside will probably be an interesting change .

Argentina is not Brazil climate wise.

I remember it snowing at a game in the World Cup in 1978, OK June is their winter, but I get the impression its more like France weather wise

Summers are warm but often wet, in Winter it gets quite cold and very windy, so not hugely different to the UK much of the time

Dozens of flights a day to Rome or Milan from as little as £18 return!

70 minute flight, easy to commute.

Payero's home town is Pascanas in Argentina - It looks like its on the Pampas - flat agriculural area of central Argentina between Rosario and Cordoba - In the photos of the town it looks like a small town in Kansas. A lot of functional buildings that are spread out from the 1960s, wide streets with not many vehicles, big blue skies.

If he comes he will find Rockcliffe area lushier and cooler with more money around.

Maybe if cagliari sign him we can loan him for a season? I doubt he would get in their team immediately, and we can check if he is actually any good for us withoit massive outlay.

Would he get a work permit ?. Trained with the Argentine Under 20 squad but not played and has played for the Olympic team.
Will that be enough ?

There is a complex temporary system for work permits and apparently by appearing at the olympics once he would qualify for a permit
