I noticed near the south-east corner a group of young lads were squaring up to these two QPR fans who were both wearing QPR tops, but to be honest most fans just laughed at them, including the two QPR fans. Don't suppose it would have been them who were responsible for the attack. He’s local but a Pools/QPR fan (long story but chose QPR when he was a kid as his ‘big club’) nice lad never been in a spot of bother.
Anyway he was with his two kids, 9 and 7, walking back to the car chatting with Boro fans when bunch of young lads attacked him, hit him on the back of the head with a can then set upon him. He has an emergency dental appointment this morning to see what they can do with what’s left of his teeth.
His biggest concern is his kids and what they witnesses - they saw their dad beat up at a Boro match. He said there was plenty of Boro fans who were sound and helped him out but it’s left a nasty taste. It was the youngest son’s first match at a ‘big stadium’ and one he’ll never forget unfortunately.
So big up to the fans who helped out but the less said about the scumbags the better
No apparently that’s another lad but from SeatonWas he the one with the Teesside R's flag in the away end?
Rob - Any chance you could report this to Yvonne Ferguson and see if the club could turn this awful experience into a positive. This is absolutely terrible. Feel for the whole family. I hope the culprits can be found and barred being any part of watching Boro at Riverside.
I know from personal experience that the police and security at Riverside will take reports of attacks very seriously.
Shameful episode isn't it.
Oh yes that is a very good idea.Rob - Any chance you could report this to Yvonne Ferguson and see if the club could turn this awful experience into a positive.
It would be a nice touch from the club.
