Terrible miss but balls to take a penalty when akpom didn’t take it off tav the other week and we got beat by Norwich

He is an excellent manager. He had a bad day Today though, poor in game mananagent, he was also let down performance wise by a lot of his players. Just a bad day all round. Guess we have to pick oursleves up again and move on

He’s a better ‘footballer’ ( doesn’t take much) but Assombalonga gets in more threatening positions which is good for us. Shame he **** them up 95 percent of the time with poor finishing and decision making. I think Akpom has more of a football brain he just isn’t particularly threatening. Basically we need a better striker than them both.
 
Akpom is startlingly invisible at times. Britt is head and shoulders above him at the minute. I think some people are getting a little hysterical in their need to find a point of blame.
Early days with akpom, he's spent time playing in Greece so will probably take a while to get up to championship speed.

Because Britt is doing a wonderful job isn't he?

If he's not performing, which he isn't, then he should be replaced until he starts performing. Isn't that why we have more than 11 football players?
 
I think today was probably a little bit of a reality check for us. It has been a decent start after last year. We have probably better than average championships players but if you have a bad day you likely lose in this division.

Everyone knows what the issue is for the team. Identifying it and resolving it are different things.

Mid week game will be a chance to see how far we have come on from last year. Woodgate’s team home performance v Swansea was one of my all time lows supporting the Boro.
