Britt Assombalonga - Released

to think he could have been a mark viduka with his physical build he should have been able to bulldoze his was into the goal.

He scored 14 in a Pulis system, a system so defensive and uncreative that we only scored 49 goals in 46 games.

We scored 84 goals last season.

If the Assombalonga of 2018/19 was here, I do think he'd manage to score 1 extra goal in a side that created as many chances as ours did last season.

He's 30 now though, so I'm sure he's declined a fair bit from how he was 4 years ago.
 
You have to be mobile to play as a striker in Carrick’s team. I don’t think Assombalonga would offer anything like what Archer did in terms of movement and trying to create space and link the play at times. I’m not sure Britt has been truly mobile since his serious injury all those years ago TBH.

In our style of play we wouldnt ask him to keep running back defending so that would save his legs he maybe not the answer but we havent found anyone yet to replace chuba if we did we would have scored a bucket full of goals.

That was probably in his prime thought. I don't think he'd be up to much now.

Nonsense we expected Akpom and Chuba to start the press and make opposition attacks predictable. He can’t do that. He also doesn’t have the ability on the ball to play our short passing game.
