Britt & Akpom aren't the problem, stop blaming them.

Spence is so frustrating. There was about 4 times in the first half where he was one on one with the full back he could of took him on and got round the man before crossing but no he did stupid early floaty crosses.

Second half, they sussed him out a bit so got another player over to help out the full back, so what does he do? Tries and takes them both on and looses the ball when an early cross would of been better. So annoying

Spot on, he seems so confused when he gets into one-one and 90% of the time makes the wrong decision. Shame as I think he's got potential.

Spence is good at running with pace. When he stops the ball though he's got nothing. Bunch of stepovers that don't go anywhere.
There are usually half a dozen defenders back when we get a cross in as we are far too hesitant.
They seem petrified to have a shot from outside the area too. Only Johnson will have a go.

They’re both crap.

Assomablonga just needs to leave and I have no idea why we bought Akpom. Terrible goalscoring record and doesn’t add any new dynamic to our game.

Spot on re Spence the icing on the cake being the second half when he did the step over thing fell over and managed to give away a free kick.

Johnson the best out of a bad bunch tonight.

Nmecha, Assombalonga, Rhodes, Gestede, Hugill, Braithwaite, Fletcher and now Akpom: all arrived with fairly decent reputations only to fail to get anywhere close to being the players we thought we were getting. Is there something in the water at Rockliffe that afflicts our strikers the minute they walk through the door?

Don't get me wrong, I think Britt and Akpom have been poor recently. However, they are not the problem. We create absolutely nothing & they are feeding of scraps. We could have Aguero up top and we wouldn't score. We need wingers who can cross and midfielders who can create. Simple as.
The manager on bbc tees thinks they aren’t doing it
Said we are creating chances but not taking them 🤷‍♂️
Who’s right. You or him ?

Our style, barely changed, regardless of managerial change. We're looking more disciplined this season though, and more effort going in to win the second ball.

We're in a bad run at the moment but it only takes a good short run to be back amongst it.

You could have the best wingers or creative midfielders in the league, but when you are counting on Britt to finish off the move you are fighting a losing battle.

Any decent creative player relies on the forward in front of him finding space, making runs, challenging for balls that sometimes are less than perfect, Britt does none of this.

He is so erratic as well, occasionally he can make a decent, intelligent run, but on the majority of the time, who knows what he going to do?

You can lay the ball on a plate, he most likely will miss. You can thread a ball through, he will fail to control it, make the wrong choice or fail to test the keeper. He is woeful one on one. his link up play is pathetic and his assists are poor, but watching him play you would expect nothing less.

I think Britt comes under that increasingly frequent modern day phenomena, the financially very comfortable, lazy footballer. He has nothing to prove, he is rich. When was the last game it looked like he was chomping at the bit? Technically he is poor, he is lightweight and not particularly fast, you add that to lack of effort and a poor footballer is the net result.

If he’d cost a million or so and was on an average salary he would have been out the door long ago. We paid too much, we pay him too much and I cannot imagine any team taking on his salary. We are stuck with an absolute dud.

I’d be gutted if I was a midfielder and looked up to see that fraud in front of me, knowing that he is making me look poor, knowing that I am reliant on him to get the goals for my team and knowing that despite the lack of interest, ability or fight he shows, he is being financially rewarded more and to top it off he is my captain.

The other issues in the squad do need addressing but our striker issues are far, far greater and have been for years.

Crosses do not equal goals if a decent striker is on the end of them. Have a look online - you need something like 40 odd crosses to get a goal on average.

Balls whacked across the penalty box not leading to a goal aren't the strikers fault.

Saying that I think Britt doesn't score enough goals. Our direct creativity is poor and has been for years.

I wrote an article about this a few weeks back. I was trying to get the point across that we still haven't replaced Ramirez. Our lack of creativity is the big problem and has been for years now.

Marvin Johnson was outstanding tonight. Whenever he gets the ball I get a warm feeling that there will be a good cross in or a good pass made. Only McNair and Howson give the same feeling.
We need to make a radical change regarding Akpom and BA. Anyone seen Akpom head a ball yet? He is absolutely dreadful.

We need to get shot of BA in Jan. If he refuses to go cos of wages , then so be it. But Im sure his lack of ability and commitment is affecting the team. Fair play to NW giving him the captaincy. But it hasn't worked.
Howson is a motivator. Never see BA motivating.

It could all be too late by Jan if we dont get a run of results.

Why isn't Patrick Roberts playing?

Serious question, not sure if he's carrying an injury or is just out of favour / doesn't fit the system. Surely has the potential to be one of the better creative players in the league and can play number 10 or create from wide.
