That is a great gesture by the Mags fans and I think it sends a message out to the powers that be.
I honestly don’t know what sort of numbers they expect for these fixtures. All I’m saying is they won’t be expecting them to pull in the millions. As you say, if they reduce prices soon we can safely assume the take up isn’t what they hoped, but if they stay the same, we can probably assume they’re happy enough with how the service is doing,Maybe it is, but looking at the sort of figures they get for PL fixtures - in the millions - is 20k at £15 what they anticipated?
See if they review the prices and reduce them after a few weeks.
That's the Premier League, though, not Sky.
So are season tickets holders having to pay for these games?By the way - he listened to Leicesters 1-0 defeat on local radio - hes refusing to pay per view.
Something like "they can shove their ******* ****** and Man U and Liverpool can just +++++++++ themselves.
That’s right. There is no extra costs to Sky who provide the feeds worldwide and receive good income for it. As you rightly say the small beer the £14.95 subs provide will be passed on to the clubs themselves partly and they won’t be too bothered about take up.Yeah, that’s a good point.
Not sure how it works tbh - the prem negotiate a deal with SKY et al who then sell their subscriptions worldwide. I would have thought the UK is still insignificant in the worldwide subscription market (not 100% sure).
Sheff U v Burnley, for instance would always have been available worldwide.
All the provider is doing is now making it available in UK on a PPV basis at a huge cost to fans.
When I was in Middle East (up to 6 years ago) I paid around £100 per annum and got access to every Prem game lIve through BEIN

Apparently so Gaz.So are season tickets holders having to pay for these games?
I pay £12 per month for Sky Sports HD, thats for a lot of football across the PL and EFL, cricket, F1 (not that I watch that), rugby, basketball and whatever else.
Is £3 a week really a rip off? I know some people pay more but no one should be paying more than £20/month, all you have to do is ask.
I don't care what the extra PPV games cost cos I won't be watching them. If fans of said clubs choose to cough up for them that's their business.
Well me too but one is illegal. Not that I'm saying people shouldn't do it, up to them, hardly crime of the century, but its a bit like asking if buying a stolen car is better value than buying a non-stolen car. I mean of course it is.Yes £12 a month is a rip off when an IPTV subscription costs around £40-£80 for the year and you get EVERYTHING, including BT Sport which shows Premier League games, Champions League games, FA Cup games and other league fixtures.
£144 for the year with Skysports for 'selected matches' - or £40-£80 for the year for pretty much every single premier league game?
I know which one I think is the most value for money.
This is wrong. Someone has to pay for a game they’ve already paid for.Apparently so Gaz.

Big time being muggedI'm pretty sure they are Gaz
Just imagine - you have paid for your ST, can't go so now are being asked to pay £15 to watch on the telly.
Fans being mugged
Would love to see the viewing figures for these paid for games.

I agree. Its not acceptible. This is wrong. Someone has to pay for a game they’ve already paid for.
hopefully the clubs are refunding for these
That would be a good thing all round. Give us back the game as it should be.Has it crossed your mind that if everyone did the same as you there would be no games broadcast for you to steal?
