Boro Live Refund

After the delay in commentary the club are offering a £1 refund.

Thank you for purchasing a Boro LIVE seasonal subscription or matchday pass ahead of last Saturday’s match against Huddersfield Town.

Unfortunately, owing to an issue encountered by a service provider, there was a period where the audio stream was unavailable. This fault was identified and rectified as quickly as possible, but meant that the service was inaccessible for approximately the first 20 minutes of the match.

We have therefore issued a partial refund of £1 to all those who have paid to listen to the match. Please allow 10 days for these refunds to be processed by your bank.

Some supporters also made duplicate match pass purchases in an attempt to access the commentary stream on Saturday – these duplicate purchases will also be refunded in full.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused, and steps are being taken to ensure that this unusual outage does not reoccur in future. Thank you for your support.

Regards,

Middlesbrough FC

It costs £3 and will cost the club more than the £1 to refund it. The main glitch was that they had took payment for the WBA game.
Won't cost them more than £1 to refund it, will cost them interchange fees which will be pence. Probably a one click refund to all products in the range.

So it's a 33% refund for 8 mins missed out of 90, which is 8.8% of the game.

You aren’t mentioning the hidden costs that the club have incurred but truthfully, what is a £1, I would rather they keep it or donate to the MFC Foundation.

Is anyone that bothered really? It was a tech issue, and it's not like the whole game was missed. They feel like they have to do something, but I reckon most people wouldn't care about a £1 refund.

After the coverage came back up mine would only play for a couple of seconds then pause and I had to continually press play. It was unwatchable, did this happen to anyone else. Ended up finding a stream online to watch it.

Thought it might have been because I was using a vpn but I've watched games like that multiple times with no issue. Next time I'll just save myself a tenner and go straight to the stream.

they'll have incurred fixed costs naturally but you didn't say anything about hidden costs which is why I didn't mention them; just pointing out that's a refund doesn't really cost anything other then the original processing fees.

I'd the club didn't refund anything people would moan, if they donated it to charity people would moan. As it's they've made a token gesture which, in the scheme of things, is greater than the loss of service. They can't really win here unless they give everyone £100

That will most likely be some problem with your setup or connection. The problem with dodgy streams are that they are a bit dodgy and can rarely be relied on. I'd rather pay up knowing i can concentrate 100% on the match, which apart from saturday has been the case for the last three seasons that I've had the season pass.

The dodgy stream was fine. It was the mfc coverage that kept stopping. As I say, watching via a vpn.

I was referring to your problems with buffering after the stream was reconnected when most people had no further problem.
Yeah I misread your first reply. No worries. Never happened before so just wondering if anyone else had same problem. Even though I have a dodgy firestick I do prefer to pay for the official stream when I can. Usually works fine.
