The Ref should be charged to.
Exactly right. And I'm afraid that if you appoint Neil Warnock this is what you get. It's what he does and what he encourages his players to do.
nonsense, VAR gets a bad press but it has reduced the number of injustices, it just isn't perfect and the process needs to speed upechnology isn't the answer as the VAR is usually worse than the idiot on the pitch so I'm at a loss.
I don't think Warnock gave a direct accusation, just an allusion that something wasn't right. Pretty difficult to fine for insinuation.I think this is more about NW suggesting that Coopers dad had .. influence ... to be fair, tongue in cheek or not, you can probably see why the FA would get prickly about such things and while he was right complaining about the ref you can probably understand the FAs reaction
He can and probably will use video evidence of Swanseas repeated histrionics over recent weeks, and how the ref must have been aware of them being gifted pens for diving prior to our game.Capy makes a very valid point, but what other avenues are open for clubs and players to protest decisions?
I hope we argue our case that given the decision to rule out Bola's goal and the video evidence that the referee was clearly influenced by the theatrics of the Swansea player, is it any wonder that conceding a last minute penalty after the ref had initially awarded a corner led to our protests?
If there was the transparency I wrote about on Saturday then perhaps managers and players wouldn't react as badly?
Part of Warnock's problem is that he's a qualified ref and has been in 4he game long enough to know the dark arts that players employ to con and influence the ref.
I would hope that referees DO NOT research the teams they are reffing beforehand that would be wrong on so many levels.how the ref must have been aware of them being gifted pens for diving prior to our game.
So if you have a manager who has been at the forefront of game management in this country.. goals don’t couldn’t anymore, penalties can be awarded against you on a whim and your players can be hospitalised by the opposition without fear of punishment, bookings, warnings etc?Warnock has form for this. I'm not sure he encourages his players to behave similarly but you could see them joining in.
It is one of the reasons some of us didn't want him here. I'm happy that he is here and I think her is doing a good job but no matter how bad the referee was (and he was BAD) behaving like Warnock and our players did is not going to endear us to other officials or the FA.
Do you mean NW? I'm not sure promotions from Div 2 on a semi regular basis puts you on the same level as SAF.So if you have a manager who has been at the forefront of game management in this country
refs are aware of teams and players that are persistent cheating, or perceived to be. They're human and they are sports fans.I would hope that referees DO NOT research the teams they are reffing beforehand that would be wrong on so many levels.
Meaningless anyway these charges. Fine and a slap on the wrist. Man United did it on a regular basis under Fergie. Until the FA grow a pair and start suspending players for aggressively surrounding the ref it's going to continue. It's understandable we've done it this time in the circumstances mind.
I agree refs should be mic'd up. Rugby refs aren't perfect (impossible to be so) but they talk to players with respect and it's generally reciprocated. I suspect this is nowhere near the case in football which is why they're so against it. People would probably be shocked at the dialogue that takes place.
If refs had to talk through the logic of their decision making process to the captain knowing it was all recorded/being heard I suspect it would help a lot. Players would probably accept decisions more and I think you might even get more sensible decisions if refs know they have to explain themselves properly at the time.
It'd make them think a bit more in the heat of the moment. God knows how he'd justify having given a corner then changing it to a pen. But as it stands he didn't have to, at that moment in time he was accountable to no-one but himself. He was probably knackered and not particularly thinking straight either.
Which is another, albeit related, issue, the physical condition of some refs is nowhere near good enough.
He encourages his players to get fouled off the ball? How does he do that?I've said all this before but how do you get better referees? Sack the ones who make mistakes?
And I'm afraid that if you appoint Neil Warnock this is what you get. It's what he does and what he encourages his players to do.
