Blackpool Covid and Injuries

They seem to have a few injuries and Covid cases. Wouldn’t surprise me if they tried to get the game called off. Hope not.

I get they are on the bones. Yet I'm not sure why injuries and suspensions should be included in the missing list.

It's covid protocols. So they have a few missing with covid. That's the only thing that should effect the game.

The fact they have 5 injured and one suspended shouldn't be a consideration. They have U23s? You wouldn't get a game called off with 5 or even 10 players missing through injuries alone.

I think some clubs are tweaking the opportunity to get a game called off due to none covid issues. You need 14 players? I'm sure a championship club has that many including U23s.

I can see why they won't want to play....clearly. Also 1 win in 10 may have something to do with it😉

Apparently testing again tomorrow. Hopefully early so we know whether to travel.

Has anybody seen the letter AFC Wimbledon have sent to the football league about games being called off because of Covid.

There are certainly teams taking advantage of the rules in place and have to agree with what he is saying.

I know this is the other end of the spectrum league wise but, it was mentioned on here last week that posters could not understand why Leeds hadn't called off their games blaming COVID, especially with the injury worries they have. Leeds cancelled their next two games blaming COVID and who could blame them.

I am not sure what evidence needs to be supplied to governing bodies prior to games being cancelled - this needs tightening up. It is the travelling fans and the teams abiding by the rules who are losing out.

After seeing saint maximin and Wilson go off injured yesterday the first thing I thought was there next few games will be off with Covid given as the reason.

Injuried are being counted I guess as the rule is 13 players plus a keeper, so explains with teams can’t reach that number.

Meanwhile, Blackpool boss Neil Critchley says they are having to cope with the loss of a number of players to injuries and suspensions. There is one positive case of Covid in their squad with further rounds of testing to be completed but the manager says they are right on the threshold of required numbers to play the game. FFS when did suspensions and injuries come into the equation.

Injuries and suspensions should not be included in the criteria to get games off.
It should be COVID outbreaks only simple.
Gibson must be absolutely livid watching all this knowing what would have been achieved had they shown us this kind of sympathy back in the day.
Ridiculous

When we had ,5 bloody defenders out injured where was our dispensation?
Teams are just looking for easy ways out and a bit of extra rest

There needs to be a single independent regulator for all English professional football clubs. The EPL/EFL are massive money markets that are being abused in plain sight.

There needs to be accountability for teams breaking EFL FFP rules who go up to the EPL.

Its an insult to teams adhering to FFP, when you see a team rise through the lower divisions spending loads more their contemporaries, on the gamble off attaining the £120m to £200m prize of entering the richest league on the planet. Only to receive massive parachute payments on their return if they fail to stay up.
