Benidorm Curfew/Spanish Lockdown.

Best player on the pitch was our keeper.

Whereas ours (Munir) was the worst - complete liability - beaten at the near post whilst flat on his **** for the first, flapped at a cross that he arrived about ten minutes late for for the third - the second was a penalty

Also a crap referee ...
2 sendings off - first one (Huesca's) correct, second one (ours) never)
2 penalties given - one for each side, neither of them correct, despite him reviewing both on VAR
Loads of iffy decisions
At least he was crap for both sides

Onwards and upwards - away at Tenerife tonight .... tight at the bottom though ....

0-0 last night - I'll take that in the current situation

Our time for an iffy var decision. Disallowed goal just before half time when 0-1 down. Lost by a goal at home.

Hopefully Spain can recoup some of the losses to the tourism industry. Good luck.
Like it is in the UK. It is a difficult balance between trying to kick start the economy without risking many more infections and deaths.

A part of Málaga had an outbreak not that long ago. From today the airport is operating at about 20% of normal traffic. Around a total of 100 flights either arriving or departing.

I hope that the checks there work. As Málaga airport is one of the gateways to my province. I live around 2 hours drive from the airport. In an area that has not had it too bad so far. Touch wood.

The article sounds to me like they are doing all they can without imposing another full on lockdown. On the right track.

First international flight coming in to our local airport this evening. Ryanair from Manchester.

Málaga (about 2 hours away) opening up earlier in the month. Running at about 20% of normal traffic levels.

Another bad day for our part of Spain. With more cases of coronavirus being found. A lot of them are people who are asymptomatic.

I live in the El Ejido area in the west (Poniente) part of the province of Almería.

This is an article I posted on my blog earlier today.

Black day for Almería: 60 new cases of coronavirus -16 July 2020

The title is the Google translation of the headline of the article here on the La Voz de Almería site.

The outbreak of 31 cases in Berja mentioned yesterday was at a single location some distance from the centre of town. Which I guess can be viewed as slightly good news.

The article says that the 4 outbreaks in the Poniente region are stable.

It also says that the 31 cases in Berja mentioned yesterday were reported late. So I guess they are included in the total of 60 for today. However I am not sure.

Still that leave 29 other new cases. I guess these are not associated with the 4 existing outbreaks in our Poniente region. I wonder where they are located. As that was not mentioned in the article.

Also, I read in an article elsewhere that the stable outbreak in El Ejido with 64 cases is associated with a fruit and vegetables packaging business.

Here is a Google translation of the article:

Black day for Almería: 60 new cases of coronavirus

The province exceeds 1,000 positives for Covid-19

Black day in the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic in the province. Almería records its worst data since the start of the pandemic on Wednesday. And there has been a record of infections reported in one day by the Junta de Andalucía.

The Ministry of Health of the Andalusian Government has reported 60 new new cases, the highest number recorded in Almería since the beginning of this health crisis.

To date, the record was on March 27 (when practically two weeks of the state of alarm decreed by the central government), date on which 31 positives were reached by Covid-19, according to the Health record. Two days before, on March 25, 31 new cases were detected, the same number as that of this past July 11.

The four outbreaks of Poniente in follow-up remain stable, according to the data offered this Thursday by the Ministry of Health of the Junta de Andalucía. The last of the registered outbreaks maintained 31 positives, that of El Ejido 64, Roquetas 6 and Adra 5.

The update in the official data has been one day late with respect to the notification of the outbreak located in an isolated house in the Virgitano nucleus.

Currently, 1,013 people have been infected with coronaviruses in the province, of which 740 have been detected through PCR tests.

In the last hours there have been no new hospitalizations, deaths or people who have overcome the disease.

Active surveillance

The delegate of the Governor, Maribel Sánchez, highlighted this morning the active and thorough surveillance that Health carries out in the province when it comes to detecting new cases and controlling the outbreaks registered.

She took the opportunity to remember the importance of the use of the mask (always mandatory since Wednesday 15 in Andalusia), to maintain social distance and to wash hands.

The Government Delegation insists that Salud is actively searching for cases. "We need citizen collaboration in this work, only with the PCR tests we cannot", he pointed out.

A little bit of good news. Sort of.

It appears that some tests in our local hospital have generated false positives. So there is a process of re-testing going on. It has only just started so they only have results from the first 12 re-tests so far. 9 of them came back as negative. With only 3 testing as positive.

One of the tests that was wrong was from a nursing home about 45 minutes from us. So that nursing home and ones in nearby towns had been locked down. It is good for them that they have now been declared virus-free again.

This is obviously too small a sample to state anything clearly yet about the whole of our area. As we have had over 150 positive cases in our "medical region" recently.

Hopefully the next few days (and perhaps weeks) might bring us a little good news. As the number of re-tests increases.

This is an interesting quote from a Spanish article I translated and posted on my blog today (translation courtesy of Google):

"95% of the cases of Covid-19 that are being detected in the province of Almería in recent weeks are asymptomatic or with very mild symptoms, and the average age of those who are infected is 35 years, as reported by the Board of Andalusia."

More cases or more testing ?
The likelihood is that there is no increase at all in the actual number of cases as asymptomatic cases would have gone un-tested and un-detected.

Also why re-test people who test positive and not re-test people who test negative ? It reminds me of my time in Quality when production managers would want any failed batches re-testing but they never wanted any that had passed to be re-tested.

The whole numbers game is becoming a bit of a farce tbh.

Spanish, you reckoned that the positive tests were unsymptomatic - why were they tested? Is it a case of more testing giving more positives?
