The defending is disgraceful, possibly the worst I can recall in a long time.

Going forward in the last 2 games we've been absolutely fine, finishing needs to improve but we won't have a problem scoring goals.

Do we have the players to finish them? I very much doubt.

Is this the new model? Sign a load of players. Realise they aren't good enough preseason. Loan them out and get as many panic buys and loans in as possible in the last week.

Seems a sound business model to me.

By the way we can't loan out Rogers unless we sign 2 no10s never mind one. Unless your happy with Crooks coming on in that position after 60-70 mins every week

Bang on!! it's going to be a long season, unless we sign another striker and No 10.

QPR Blackburn Sheff Wed our next 3 games, these are must win games or must not lose games, before Southampton & Watford.

Could be a long long season with many bad weekends ahead.
 
I have never read such rubbish before on this board.
Last week we were 23rd in the league.
Because of our solid defence we only conceded 4
This means we have shot up the league table and we are now 22nd.
Superb tactical play by the mighty boro.

Apart from lathe where are the goals going to come from silvera and rodgers wont get near double figures. I think we will be very near the bottom theres a massive lack of experience in the squad coupled with a distinct lack of physicality we will get rolled over all season by physical teams. We play like an airy fairy u21 team against seasoned championship teams we are absolute powder puff. We need at least two seasoned strong physical competitive players who can jump straight into this team no more projects before the window closes otherwise the season is a right off.
 
I thought some of Engels crosses were very good and he also should have scored, needs a bit of time to settle but did well ( obviously apart from )

Carrick has made some absolutely shocking tactical errors in his short time with us.

They worked on the high last season but now is where the money is earned, show you know what to do to stop the rot.

With what we have right now ..
Not playing a midfield three / five means that the little seasoned experience we have is sat on the bench ( barlaser crooks Jones forss ) , whilst new projects start .
It also means we're asking hackney and howson to do too much physically.
We're definitely a soft touch.

I said before the game we should play with 3 in the middle by adding Barlaser to shore things up i would also play jones instead of Silvera as well purely as he will support defensively. Silvera is leaving gaping holes.
 
Jones looked our best player today when he came on, you’d have thought carrick would have sussed out to bring him on every game against tiring defenders for the last 20 minutes as that’s when he is most effective. The issue though is he takes the likes of Rogers and lath off at the same time who are exactly the types of player who would link up with him in dangerous places on the pitch!
