Assombalonga going?

If Fletcher is back soon I wont be bothered, if were planning for Akpom to be our main striker though we might as well give up any hopes of promotion now
Hasn't scored many but , correct me if I'm wrong, he does seem okay at trying to create space/passes for others.

Why are other clubs players always rated so much better than our own on here.
Diédhiou has only started 4 times for Bristol City this season and struggles to get a game before Chris Martin.
I am sure Bristol City fans would be over the moon to get Britt especially when a straight swap has been mentioned.

My guess is that there's more to it than simple on the pitch matters, possibly because he hasn't signed a new deal with them yet and also the fact that he's had coronavirus.

He's scored more than Chris Martin has in a fraction of the time, but still can't buy a start.

He was there player of the season last year, and outscored Assombalonga, so it's not like he's not rated at the club.

That ITK says we're getting a fee, but he doesn't know where it is.

If true, it's good that we might recoup some of the fee paid for him.

Fletcher, Diedhiou and Akpom are a proper Warnock set of strikers. Supported by Tav, Watmore, Browne, Johnson, and one other and it's starting to look pretty decent for a chmpionship team.

Watmore and Browne aren’t strikers though are they. You could describe them as “Forwards” at best they aren’t natural centre forwards/goal scorers.
I've said this before but if Watmore isn't a striker then sometime needs to tell the club because according to the official sources (MFC website & app) they reckon he is.

TBF that Brizzle striker is a Warnock type of player so maybe there is something in it. If Britt has indicated he won’t be here next year it makes sense to move him on now, we are hardly dependent on his goals.

If I remember rightly pukki had no real record of scoring looki at him now .
It’s Watmore best ever season scoring in league football, all in 8 games . He needs to keep playing and test himself and find out what he can do when fit . The worst thing for him now would be a rest .

He had played 345 minutes of league football as a striker prior to joining us. That's less than 4 full matches. HE was predominantly played wide and occasionally as a 10, and in emergency as a CF.....but.......maybe CF is his true role

Frankly, Britts value to us and others has plummeted. He represents a poor return for a striker - and it has got worse. I liked the guy but presently he hardly warrants a game and is an exceptionally expensive resource.

perhaps a new start will be to his benefit - it certainly will be to us as he costs us a fortune in wages!

I doubt very much as a free agent he would struggle to find a new club.

Also with no transfer fee to be paid by a club wanting to sign him he could negotiate better terms.

Why give up 6 months x £35k a week or what ever he gets paid to get say £15k instead?
He won't lose out, he'll be going to a club that wants to pay him more than we are offering. He's a solid 1in3 championship striker (current captain too)
If we've offered him £15k a week for two years he could very well be offered be offered £20k a week for five years plus a £375k signing on fee - he's £3.5m better off
£2m* transfer fee to the boro and you've got yourself a very tasty championship striker for £5.5m all in.

*could be a bit more

The chance of him getting a 5 year contract is very remote. £375k signing on fee, what do you base that on, it's just guesswork really.

He may well be better off in the long run but the point I was making is he won't just leave here because we want him to, he'll only do it if its in his best interests.
