Maybe. And I'm not knocking self belief. But if that was the case, then as I say he's been badly advised. I think you need to be performing above average most weeks in the championship to realistically expect you can cut it at prem level. As much as I quite liked him, he was pretty average at this level bar the odd game.

Poor career move from a purely sporting perspective. So he was either a bit deluded as to his ability (too high an opinion of himself) or just didn't really care there was a fairly high chance he wasn't going to play.

And do we really want a player on loan who was pretty average at this level, if we're aiming for higher? I'd have kept him because I think he was ok and had potential to kick on. But he's barely kicked a ball in 6 months and if he does kick on (and that's a big if), we won't be reaping the benefits. Watford will.

I really liked him, I think injuries and a preference for Britt were his undoing. I think he did okay.
 
I dont think he’s good enough if we want to be promoted that said if it wasn’t for his dodgy exit where he didn’t want to play at the end of the season it wouldn’t really be an issue to add to the squad, but he wasn’t willing to put the effort in despite the millions he had earned for the club in the previous 4 seasons so for that reason it’s a no from me.
 
putting feelings of him deserting us to one side and look at a team / club decision then yes for a loan till end of season....
