As a fan - as an individual:

No one is dictating what fans can or can't post but I did highlight the number of new usernames posting criticism and questioned if they had another pseudonym that they don't want the criticism linked to.
If that's the case it's a shame they don't feel comfortable enough to express their views under their usual name.
If they actually are new users its not a great welcome for them to be told their opinion is disgusting.

I think the post regrading who should replace carrick is ludicrous mind, and the comments like Liam rosenior? Come on equally, the belittlment and criticism that us fans should be ok with the club being in a awful position is disgusting is just not it. The divide in the fanbase will always be there you’ll have people in extremes last season, blokes behind me telling us to just “ hoof it” to 5,9 archer and “ get crooks on” when the team was flying is just mad and you think why do these people bother. But generally the comments I see is fans calling others bedwetters and giving the fans who are criticical abuse. Most people sit in the middle, we praise the team when we win and give constructive criticism when we lose. We pay out money and entitled to express our opinion and the thread on here suggesting we can’t is disgusting not the “ bedwetters” most us meet in the middle this thread is awful with all due respect

As a fan - as an individual:
Its absolutely disgusting reading some of the vile and vitriolic nonsense on FMTTM after yesterday`s game.
Neither other fans, players, Michael Carrick, the Recruitment Team nor Steve Gibson, deserve to be treated with the evident utter contempt.
Idealism is fine, but feet on the floor and weathering the storm requires balls and character.
We have to suck it in, put the teddies back in the pram, get behind the whole club and support the lads.
Constructive criticism is welcome, but if you believe shouting and yelling is going to solve the issues - you will be disappointed.

Lets hold it together.
UTMB!
Roofie, posters don't need permission, or guidance from you.

I am very pro Carrick and posted so, but others are entitled to make their observations. I haven't seen anybody abusing Michael.
I am very critical of Scott and recruitment and am sure I am entitled to express that opinion. Others have defended him/it, as is their prerogative.
Players nearly always divide opinion. You'd be hard pressed to find any player that all posters have exactly the same opinion about.
A message board is there for people to express opinions. It is healthy. Extreme views are usually challenged and debate can get prickly, but it is rare for it to get out of hand.

Good post.

The biggest disappointment and concern for me is how quick the fans are turning. I have been to every game this season so far (Blackburn will be the first I miss due to a holiday clash) and it has been hard going but we all accepted it was going to be hard. The squad is in a transition period.

It is clear that we are working under constraints. That will be hard for Carrick, Woodgate, coaching staff, Scott, Gibson and also for fans.

But fans are part of this - if we create toxicity it will make the situation worse. Yesterday was pretty toxic to be honest. We have a role to play and part of it is patience and support.
I was going to go to Blackburn but shagged it off. Will probably go to Sheff Wed though

Being a relatively new member maybe you could answer the above observations that you've made - Have we made you feel unwelcome or do you have another user name that you like to use?

I really love you as a poster r00fie1, I must do as I get your username spelling right more than most, but i think your OP is way wide of the truth. I get you love Boro and beat your chest as loudly as red faction drummers, but honestly, we are a bag of 💩 largely due to recruitment. Carrick has my 100% support. Scott of the Anarchic has let him down big style imho. Time will tell, but i fear a Woody style set up and Carrick looking down the garden path thinking wtf?

Not unwelcome no. But a couple of times I've felt as though I've had to tread carefully in case I step out of line. There is a hierarchy of posters I'm still getting used to.
My other username is Roofie. Only joking, I don't have one. If I did I'd probably choose Jack Graham. Or maybe Miggsy if I wanted to be a bit disruptive 🙂

There is no hierarchy of posters, we‘re all wallies for goodness sake, don’t add to the ever growing list ffs 🤣

I might be a wally, no argument. Doesn't mean there isn't some sort of hierarchy.
Maybe that's the wrong word. Some posters, in the main, get more respect and deferential treatment than others. For no reason that is obvious to me.
Anyway, I'll leave it now before this thread goes in a whole new direction and I find myself in bother.

Every long time poster on here has their detractors. It's life. You can't expect to be universally liked.

As just one member, I`ve expressed an opinion which appears to have received support.
That`s a personal decision for other people to make.
No hierarchy here. We all have the right to express an opinion.
Admin decide when a post has crossed the line.

We are all [apart from Hoolio?] Boro fans, and want the best results and promotion [hopefully].
Personally, my glass is always half-full. Thats obviously not the same for everyone.

That’s a very good point. I have expressed my disappointment with how the club has recruited and performed. However, I have never, nor will ever, castigate or insult the team on the pitch. But to expect people to calmly accept the dross we are being served, after the promises of a promotion push, is naive and unreasonable.

Isn't the issue on this thread that every negative poster is conflating criticism with unacceptable comments.

I can't speak for roofie but I suspect he had no issue with people asking questions or highlighting how poor our cohesion was on saturday.

He is highlighting comments that don't need to be made. Some, I am sure were in the heat of defeat but still we are all adults and should behave as such.

There certainly is a hierarchy of posters on this board and it is clear for all to see.

I usually find if you tell people you like the royal family, voted for Brexit, believe that Boris was badly treated by the public over his party gate and the way he ran the country, you have no distance anxiety over EV cars and that Chris Wilder wasn't a bad manager helps you move up that list fast.

Morning Norman.
Hows the weather in France? Its going to be 27 degrees over here today.

It shouldn’t be though. We finished 4th last season. We had the foundations to build on our success we haven’t we have went down the brighton Brentford model to a degree and the players we have picked up are poor players it’s not there fault they are good lads they try silvera is raw young could come good but a development player. Rogers doesn’t look great same with engle no player deserves abuse no manager deserves abuse and Gibson doesn’t either. People have every right to be critical and concerned however. You can’t expect the ground to be bouncing when 26,000 people came out to watch a supposed promotion contender condemned to there 4th league defeat in 5 against the relegation favourites
I am not suggesting that people should be happy. I have been going for 26 years and I am just as disappointed as the next person. But with respect it was fans and some of the media that set that expectation despite it costing £50m to stand still. To bring in the team that we had last year and *not improve it* would have cost £50m. That was never going to happen. I don’t see what foundations we had? They were loan signings. It’s miles away from the core squad between the playoff final and the following year. The club has tried to manage those expectations. The entire window was described as a “project”.

I can’t speak for everyone else but I have not turned up to the Riverside expecting to see a promotion contender since about February 2016.

This is the first big test for Carrick. It’s not unusual for teams to go through these periods. We are all desperate to see improvement. It’s also a test for fans, football at our level is not perpetual growth - this season is a transition.

Morning Roofie.

We arrived back home to reality on Friday evening and it looks like it is going to be a really sunny week on Teesside. The weather in the Landes region wasn't too clever this year and it seemed like we never had two days the same. Don't get me wrong, we managed to have a really good time and did a little bit of fishing, watched Ospreys diving for fish and saw a family of boars run out in front of the car.

If that’s the case then as a new member I’m going to be flying up that hierarchy list lol.

I've been reading the previous forums of this especially the one prior to this one.

I once spoke to a bloke about 15 years ago, who lived a way. He talked about, his dad was born in Thornaby, he went to the match in the 70s a few times with his dad, but they packed in in the mid and late 80s and started supporting his home club (he forgot all this chatter). He came back to Boro under Robbo and the bandwagon.

He like another former Board poster used to sometimes adds over 200 likes to his name during the early hours every night,(checked the next morning) using names that don't show up(easily done), as if you you look at his postings they don't add up.

Also a former board favourite user brought down his posting- to- like difference down from posted- to -reaction score (must think we are stupid) by over 2k post inside of a month  He later quit stopping just short of level as he must have realised how daft it was. I have a few favourites but non of these as they tell blatant lies imho.

Dont take any notice of the liars and numbers its all bollox. Just enjoy the reasonable mild mannered ones, your posts are as a good as anybody unless they are plain nasty.

There's one old bloke on here got 7 different user names.
