Are you in favour of the latest deal with the EU ?

Absolutely this. People on here actually complain because I'm upset about this but I am. I loved my country and to see it destroyed like this is horrible
Yet you voted Tory and backed the brexit mantra. So you are upset about a vote you made for a party that implemented the referendum in the first place and then carried it out.

i still don’t get how you can’t see a link between the two.

What a waste of 4 years this has been. The Referendum said that we were coming out and we have now accomplished this and agreed "a deal".

Whatever is said about Johnson, he has carried out the leaving process and has done so by virtually forcing opposition into supporting it. Either they let his deal through or get the much maligned "no deal". Not bad for a much abused "clown".

Johnson is a complete clown and has only got the deal the EU wanted him to have.

But I agree we have wasted four years we could have been getting on with things, this deal will have been available four years ago.

I think it’s good that Rees Mogg and the ERG didn’t get their way on this, the split vote on Brexit showed that a very soft Brexit was the correct democratic solution rather than gambling on no deal.

See what you make of this.
As you can see - its in Chapter two of the EU / UK Accord.
I didnt think anyone would be happy pasting the whole 1243 page document

Just been perusing the deal

You don't have to look far to see this

Judgments and orders of the Court of Justice of the European Union delivered in application of an arbitration clause contained in a contract or agreement in relation to Union programmes, activities or parts thereof under Protocol I shall be enforceable in the United Kingdom in the same manner as European Commission decisions, as referred to in paragraph 1 of this Article.

(y)Morning. Yes - the devil is in the detail.
We are already seeing "We got Brexit done!".But , after a couple of weeks the reality will kick in.
Its a case of:- whichever policies the EU adopts - the UK will follow suit, like a dog on a leash.

It is bad though isn’t it? He’s played brinksmanship politics with the EU and got us a bad deal. It’s terrible

He's got it through where others failed because he didn't care too much about the cost (other than to his own reputation). Any part way responsible leader was hamstrung by trying to meet idiotic red lines insisted on by the zealots in their party while trying not to do too much damage to the country at the same time.

Johnson of course only cares about what's best for him, which makes forcing brexit through at any cost much easier.

There is absolutely nothing about the way Johnson has conducted himself throughout the process to be admired. Disappointing that some seem to think there is.

Was any other type of deal ever possible though?

In reality, despite the bravado of the Brexiteers, the EU have always held all the cards.

Plus Macron has given a little taste of just how weak a position we are actually in by blockading the ports this last week or so, albeit for Covid reasons.

No it probably wasn’t. It goes to highlight the intense stupidity of Brexit doesn’t it. We now have a deal that ties the country up in red tape, tariffs for our major industries and limits our own freedoms. The fact that brexiteers are celebrating this reduction in our quality of life is frankly baffling. Also the small tariff free concessions we do have, are dependant on us following EU rules anyway. It’s just such a senseless, destructive and futile process.

The Brexiteer politicians and Johnson himself have to declare some kind of big victory to cover the truth otherwise they are admitting they have misled some of the public into thinking that leaving the EU would solve all our problems.

It looks to me like the problems are only just beginning.

We have to follow all the rules but have no say in them?
