Are we now just accepting the ST price increases then?

who is this 'we'? and No you don't have to accept it, just like other things in your life you can agree or not. you can pay or not, it's up to you. That's the reality in this cost of living crisis. If you can't afford the rising petrol prices for your V8 say then you may decide to downsize to a four cylinder or give up other things to keep driving your V8.
Those are types of the decisions everybody struggling with it will have to make.
I've given up alcohol to cut costs and saving about $50 a week - that'll pay for my extra petrol!!!
We the fans I meant mate, sorry if I’ve included you in a collective term against your will. Yes sure, I’m comfortable making life decisions according to my own needs. As some have said, decisions to renew / buy will be more about current sentiment and expectation than price for many, but regardless it’ll be an increase too far for some I reckon. I just wanted to hear views around the price increases because I think they’re going to be damaging to the club’s best interests. And therefore to ‘us’, the fans. Because ‘we’ want ‘our’ club to achieve the best it can? I think the decision, the manner of communication and the timing was very wrong and will be unnecessarily damaging, and that ‘my’ club will suffer as a result. I don’t want that to happen.

The hierarchy needs to look at what Hull City charge, with all the different age groups. Their highest walk up price is similar to our cheapest. That's probably why their crowds have increased.
Fair play to them, they've nailed it with those prices.

h_m

My guess is adult tickets will go up by £1 all round the stadium, as per last season. NW/SW corners would be then £32 plus £15 = £47.

I am sure Leeds have booking fees too and there ticket pices for walk ups will be a good few pounds more expensive. Boro's booing fees are avoided if tickets bought direct from the Stadium or with a digital membership account.

Personally, if I was taking a child under say 12 on a walk up basis I would go in the family section where prices are lower and there are more child based activities.
Giving out dirty flags and getting your kid to guess the attendance every other game is about all they do in the GRFZ.

Have they released the walk up prices yet? I fully understand the fury over ST prices. I still have a feeling that the majority who have an ST will renew.

People tend to buy a ST because they 'can' . I mean they know they can attend almost every match as in not working Saturdays etc.

I can only presume an increased ST means almost certainly an increase in walk up prices. We are already paying £32+. That's ridiculous for the second tier. It could be £35-36 with even an increase.

They will be dreading announcing those.

But surely if we spent less on players then we would not compete at the top of the table and support would drop off.
Of course we all want cheaper tickets but realistically we are going to have to work towards that next season.
I don’t think this is correct. We’ve shown it doesn’t really matter what we spend we just bang around the championship

It is more important to have a good coaches, spending more helps but doesn’t guarantee anything

I did yes. We managed to get £30 in the Premier League didn't we. Not twenty but when you think of what Premier fans would have been facing, really good.
Especially compared to a few clubs in the Championship. I did stick my neck out and led the push for the reciprocal away fan deal with Leeds this season. I say stick my neck out because I pushed for it to go through without a lengthy consultation with supporters (some clubs and fans vetoed it).
I do argue for cheaper tickets with our club and I always have done. Sorry, I might present counter arguments on here but we have gone to the club armed with information about other Championship clubs. What comes back is a complicated argument - I was going to ask Steve Gibson to put this forward to you, you may remember. He did agree. I backed away because of all that abuse Mark Motley and one or two others received from fans at the time of price rises announcement. It just didn't seem worth it... sadly.
That doesn’t feel consistent, you didn’t present what Gibson had to say because of abuse but you are offering resolute counter arguments in this thread despite the abuse mark and others received.

I pay 550 notes for me and my son to sit in GRFZ,if you divide that by 2 and then again by 23 it works out less than £12 per match and I get a free drink.
The club get many things wrong but GRFZ is not one of them in my opinion.
It's definitely not, but why can't this be extended to other areas of the ground? Many ST holders have sat in a specific stand/block for years......then when they have kids and want to take them to a game they need to sit in one specific area of the ground. Or pay for it.

And why have they made it difficult to buy tickets there? Despite looking a number of times, and seeing online the section greyed out, it became apparent that tickets are available....... if you phone the ticket office. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Why cant the club be transparent and tell us about the 'complicated argument'? Why does it have to be so secretive and a select few told? Why do you need to ask him to put this forward? All we got in explanation so far is someone has to pay the poor kids on minimum wage.

If the difference in income generated was going to be the difference between keeping the club afloat or going under, or buying an established striker, or having to mend and make do, I think fans could understand, if not agree, with the increase. However, it simply wont play out like that.

The approx £500k extra income it would generate, and that is being generous, as the amount of none renewals will surely negate this extra revenue, is as others have said, the difference between having an extra development striker, or a 3rd choice keeper etc etc.
