Are we now just accepting the ST price increases then?

It's definitely not, but why can't this be extended to other areas of the ground? Many ST holders have sat in a specific stand/block for years......then when they have kids and want to take them to a game they need to sit in one specific area of the ground. Or pay for it.

And why have they made it difficult to buy tickets there? Despite looking a number of times, and seeing online the section greyed out, it became apparent that tickets are available....... if you phone the ticket office. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
I believe the Club wanted an area of the Stadium that was more family friendly i.e. no swearing, no alcohol while leaving other areas of the stadium more adult themed.

If people can buy tickets online without any checks to the dates of birth I sssume a group of boozy, swearty blokes could just buy a group of tickets in the family end to try and save a few quid. Maybe parents feel more reassured some extra checks are completed.

At Ayresome there were family areas and from the year dot - the Boys End. The Boys end was physically walled off.

Just out of interest to those saying there is a disconnect between the club and the fans, why does that matter?

You are paying to watch the 11 players on the pitch. What does it matter if you feel disconnected to the ‘club’? What is ‘the club’ if it is more than wanting the players to win?
Because the whole concept of a club and fans is really more like a membership to something you belong to. It isn't a traditional business/customer relationship because I'm not just going to go join another club. Because of that we don't view things as strictly transactional but the more the people/person running the club does think that way then the more the fans will and the less likely they are to think that the transaction presents good value. I don't know about everyone else but I feel like the club is part of my identity. I share common ground with other people that are part of that club which I don't with fans of other clubs. It is something I want to be a part of and I shouldn't be made to feel like the club are taking the **** out of me deliberately. The more the club puts itself first instead of the fans the more disconnect there is between "us and them". The more open and transparent it is then when decisions have to be made that ensure our survival/competitiveness then we can understand them. Hiding all the information and always putting prices up while reducing quality feels like something Mike Ashley does when he takes over a high street chain and not something that someone who is supposed to be "one of us" does in the running of our club.

The key thing to remember is that a club is nothing without the fans. It is our club, not Gibson's.

Understood and apologies, not intended. I do applaud the efforts of RF and FMTTM and the concessions achieved, but wondered if they believed the matter was reasonably closed. I thought RF had stated they would continue to oppose the prices, not sure what FMTTM’s stance is. I don’t think it is reasonably closed and yes, I’ve written to the club. I may not renew, for a combination of reasons. And as the user name might suggest, I’ve had one for a long time, 40 odd years now. There are other personal reasons for me which may have prevailed anyway, but the alienation I felt after the club’s initial communication certainly hasn’t helped.
Did get the reference of the user name!
(Call me Prefix S).😉

I think in Gibson's mind, if we can build a winning football team then everything else takes care of itself. If we're close to the automatic promotion places this time next year then the ground will be close to full. You can argue about how they go about that of course.

A strategy that has paid dividends in recent years.

If the difference in income generated was going to be the difference between keeping the club afloat or going under, or buying an established striker, or having to mend and make do, I think fans could understand, if not agree, with the increase. However, it simply wont play out like that.

The approx £500k extra income it would generate, and that is being generous, as the amount of none renewals will surely negate this extra revenue, is as others have said, the difference between having an extra development striker, or a 3rd choice keeper etc etc.
Sell Hoppe keep prices same.
Or Gilbert, dont mind which.
Or both if that is what is required to raise necessary funding, neither would be any great loss to the club.
Keep saying this and people think I am joking.
Seems the best way to appease fans to me.

Probably because neither would raise the requisite funds. Both wouldn't raise any transfer funds, and we would likely have to subside their wages. If there had been any takers for Hoppe at all, he wouldnt be still here.

I pay 550 notes for me and my son to sit in GRFZ,if you divide that by 2 and then again by 23 it works out less than £12 per match and I get a free drink.
The club get many things wrong but GRFZ is not one of them in my opinion.
I never said it was. I’ve sat there for the last couple of years and it’s been good value for me and my son. I was merely pointing out that there’s no activities in there for kids as the poster suggested there was. In fact, I’d say it worse than the north stand for idiots, as people go there before the game and at half time because it easier to get served. I’ve seen more drug taking in that part of the stadium since sitting there than anywhere else.

Quite telling that they're not promoting the figures for how many have been sold, they were making a big deal about it at this point last season, promoting it constantly and encouraging fans to get on board.

This was last season:

They did the same in 2022 too.

I'd renewed on day one in both of those seasons, I still haven't done so this time.

The only real way we can protest it is by not going and thus hitting the club financially. The fan groups don’t seem to have any real impact other than a pretence that the club is listening. They’re not, they never will. It’s a shame.

I’d be interested to see if the attendances at non-league clubs go up off the back of the cost, as well as Hartlepool.
