Bad news. A few weeks back a doctor in Italy said the same, and this week another doctor said the limit was 60 in her area.

I see Germany are taking Spanish and French patients to help out (they have already taken Italians. Also sending PPE to France, Austria and Sweden. Nice to see cross border support.

Teesside numbers have increased from 40 two days ago, to 43 yesterday and 72 today.

Don’t forget the North Yorkshire cases, which now stand at 69 (up from 45 yesterday). Approximately a third of those (at a guess) will come under South Tees NHS Trust.

I saw you put that figure yesterday. North Yorkshire is a vast area with towns from Scarborough to Filey to Settle, Hawes, Richmond, Skipton and Harrogate. The population of North Yorkshire served by Teesside hospitals must be relatively small?

Population of North Yorkshire County Council is approx. 400,000. Hambleton and Richmondshire districts are served by South Tees NHS, with a combined population of 140,000 so approx. a third of total.

604000 according to their website. Still larger proportion than I thought.

You’re right. I’d quickly looked at this (you need to click on the data tab when you’ve followed the link) which I got off the NYCC website and assumed that the North Yorkshire total at the top included the York figures at the bottom. However, adding the district figures together, it doesn’t.

https://hub.datanorthyorkshire.org/...imates-mid-2016-revised-ny-and-districts.xlsx

So approx. one quarter of those numbers then, rather than one third.

111 infections in Teesside and 22 in NY in South Tees hospital district.

Approx 33% increase in Teesside figures in a day. More than double the national average.

It would be common knowledge and everybody would know by now if 3 wards and the ICU were full.

Saying you've heard this and heard that means nothing.

I know Whitby area patients are sent to South Tees/James Cook for many treatments.

I would guess South Tees covers the North Yorks Moors area plus Stokesley/Northallerton/Richmond areas i.e. over 100k NY people

The Spanish video has been removed. Is it about abandoned care home(s) in Spain discovered by the Spanish Army?

I did hear a care home was found by the Spanish Army a few days and there were no staff there just residents left to care for themselves. The Army were doing hygiene checks of homes.

138 infections in Teesside and 27 in NY in South Tees hospital district.

Approx 25% increase in Teesside figures in a day. Nearly double the national average, but down from 33% increase yesterday.

It was from Madrid. Which is the biggest centre of problems here. Such a sad story. Not sure. Far too many people dying there. However I think part of it was due to them not being able to collect the bodies quick enough to take them away. So they were being left in their rooms.
