I saw you put that figure yesterday. North Yorkshire is a vast area with towns from Scarborough to Filey to Settle, Hawes, Richmond, Skipton and Harrogate. The population of North Yorkshire served by Teesside hospitals must be relatively small?
604000 according to their website. Still larger proportion than I thought.Population of North Yorkshire County Council is approx. 400,000. Hambleton and Richmondshire districts are served by South Tees NHS, with a combined population of 140,000 so approx. a third of total.

I’ve heard that one icu ward is fullAs an aside, how many local people have been infected?
I've heard there are 3 full wards at JCUH plus IC is at capacity, not sure how many in NT. Could be just rumour of course
It was from Madrid. Which is the biggest centre of problems here. Such a sad story. Not sure. Far too many people dying there. However I think part of it was due to them not being able to collect the bodies quick enough to take them away. So they were being left in their rooms. The Spanish video has been removed. Is it about abandoned care home(s) in Spain discovered by the Spanish Army?
I did hear a care home was found by the Spanish Army a few days and there were no staff there just residents left to care for themselves. The Army were doing hygiene checks of homes.
