I think this has the makings of a classic - both sides prefer to play on the front foot and I expect both will leave gaps.

That said, their finishers are better than ours so expect them to prevail if that's the case.

This is the biggest game in ages IMO. This is what the Boro are about; going into cup games against teams higher up the pyramid and playing out of our skins. F*ck Manchester United and whoever they pick on Friday, it’s about the Boro pitching up and attacking them, rattling into tackles and getting into their box.

There’s always another three points next Saturday afternoon or on Wednesday night, but there’s only one FA Cup and I cannot wait for this match. Bring it on. Get into ‘em.

I didn't remember many moans when Leadbitter scored at Old Trafford in December and with seven minutes left we were still one up .
We collapsed because the summer recruitment was poor and January a disaster. Gibson lost his mind on promotion and only got it back in 2020.
 
Man Utd have a team of recertification players that aren't performing as a team and haven't been for sometime.

It will be interesting to see how strong the team is they put out, normally it would have a few changes but given the FA Cup is more important than normal, then I wouldn't be surprised to see a full strength team on the pitch.

Lets be honest quite a few. Under a different manager theyd be firing more than with current one with his fairly negative tactics and style of play.

It's a cup match.

Win or lose, we're getting money and it's a bit of publicity.

Only thing I want to avoid is Ronaldo scoring.

I'd sooner lose 6-0 than have him score once.
 
Not sure if they're defensive side? Rangnick's philosophy is very attacking.

That said, it's taking the squad a while to adapt to his methods from what I've seen. Lots of cross-field diagonals starting to appear though which were a key part of his success with Leipzig.
 
Probably right. Dont think theyve played for nearly 14 days vs west ham...no man utd players should need resting.due to a hectic schedule should they.
 
Man Utd come out with their strongest side and one or two changes, I think we need a bit more pace on our left hand side and I'm putting Connolly in over Sporar.. I do think that Watmore more than deserves a start.. but Connolly if he has anything about him will shine in this game. (Lee Tomlin MKII anyone?)
