My mental health will suffer until full time on Sunday, I’d snap your hand off for a draw now. I have never seen us win at the Ricoh that I can remember. I watched us win 3-1 at highfield road.
Complete defeatist attitude, Compare the seasons of Brighton, Villa, Brentford, Fulham, Wolves, Bournemouth.. Leicester, Leeds and even Forest. They have all been up there competing at the very top level of football. Winning 3-0 in the championship does not compare to premier league football. The few cup games with the likes of Man City, Man Utd, Spurs have been some of our most memorable games.. because they are not Championship teams. Its a strange situation really. Next season would be far more enjoyable for the supporters if we're in the championship where we can compete at the top end of the division rather than struggling week in, week out in the premier league.
If we're sensible and don't blow our wad although we're likely to end up relegated a year in the premier league would hugely strengthen the club.
Its not defeatist at all. Its realistic. I think its fair to say all of those teams went up with stronger squads than us. Some like wolves and fulham had much stronger squads than we currently have.Complete defeatist attitude, Compare the seasons of Brighton, Villa, Brentford, Fulham, Wolves, Bournemouth.. True, but we were all scarred by the last time we went up. Truly, I with we hadn't have bothered, we were so rank. At least under Carrick we will attempt to play the right way. We may end up doing a Norwich, mind, and conceding loads.Complete defeatist attitude, Compare the seasons of Brighton, Villa, Brentford, Fulham, Wolves, Bournemouth.. I’m not scarred, clear our gambles weren’t paying off, karanka wasn’t cutting it and our recruitment was dog eggs. It was made worse by Monk & Pulis imo.True, but we were all scarred by the last time we went up. Truly, I with we hadn't have bothered, we were so rank. It would be great if we went up no matter if we went down again, because like mfc79 said, we'd benefit so much financially. That's not the same as saying you hope we'll go down, just that we are unlikely to benefit from loan signings as good as Archer & Ramsey again, so I feel we have to take our chance now.. We may get one or both back in the Prem too - to help do damage to Villa's rivals.
If we don't go up, you still fancy Carrick to get us close again, but look how injuries can suddenly take their toll...
Clearly a trip to the Premiership benefits the club financially. So the club need to go up at all costs. Its not defeatist at all. Its realistic. If we go up we would be doing it with a weaker squad than the other two promoted teams. The odds of avoiding relegation would be hugely stacked against us.
Exactly how I feel. Pulis year felt a bonus. This year it feels so close. If we don't do it I feel it will be due to injuries. But I definitely think we have another 60% to give over what we showed yesterday. I wish it was Sunday tomorrow.I'm so confident in this team, these last 3 results have no altered my oppinnion that I think we're gonna win it. Doesn't stop the ghost of Norwich looming in my brain though. I wasn't overly bothered for some reason the year Villa beat us. But this year it's a mix of excitement and nerves
