Anthony Joshua Agrees Terms to Fight Tyson Fury on December 3rd (or not)

Let’s be honest Ruiz (and his original opponent) were hand picked by Hearn as as a gimme to launch AJ to the lucrative US market.
Miller was dangerous, powerful, youngish and unbeaten. But Joshua was rightly a strong favourite, it was a sensible choice for that first US fight.

As a backup Ruiz was a very difficult opponent, only a defeat on point to Parker on his record. As a last minute stand in he was far from handpicked.

Of course he was hand picked

Us media response

This should be no real surprise by now.

In June 2019, Joshua lost to Andy Ruiz Jr. (aka Fat Andy) by TKO, and he won a rematch primarily because Ruiz weighed a staggering 283 pounds and Joshua refused to brawl on his way to a unanimous decision.

As I say not a glowing praise.

He beat him because he outboxed him, would he have outboxed him if Ruiz was in better condition, who knows that's supposition. Joshua beat what was in fron tof him.

If he fights Charr in December will you still be defending him?
He's fighting Charr because AJ (in Fury's terms) 'is a massive sh*thouse'.

Usyk won't fight until next year. So what else is there for Fury in Dec?

He clearly wanted to fight AJ and he gave him a quite staggering offer...an offer AJ doesn't deserve...and AJ has ran away as usual.

Not much more Fury can do.

Even his own promoter is saying the fight with Joshua can still be made and negotiations or progressing.

If you believe everything that comes out of Fury's mouth then there is absolutely no point even debating it with you.

By setting daft deadlines, Fury is the one stopping the fight from happening. Anyone with half a brain can see that.

At least he has a mouth.

AJ is just hearns puppet

Btw as for reputations being damaged I think AJ’s bizarre outburst has more than won that debate.

TBF I'm happy to stop debating with someone who thinks Fury doesn't take the big fights when he's a two time world heavyweight champion.

Keep spouting b0llocks though.
If you read the post correctly you would see I said once he's got hold of the belts.

AJ and Joyce now popping at each other on twitter so perhaps AJ is putting things in place for an alternative fight.
AJ v Joyce would be a cracking fight. Meanwhile Fury can go mess around with Charr.

I'm sure Joyce would jump in with Fury so if the AJ fight can't be made, why not make a fight with Joyce?

Why does a fight have to be made in December? He's never really cleared that up. WBA have already said he's under no time restriction from them.... Why not fight Usyk early next year? Usyk has said he's willing to do that.

He won the WBC from Wilder.

Defended it against Wilder. (all 3 times he fought Wilder were in the USA)

Then faced the mandatory challenger (Whyte) and beat him.

And now he's outing AJ who is clearly dodging him.

But you carry on saying he doesn't take on the big fights.

Marv, you've also accused Joshua of not wanting the big fight with Fury, despite Joshua also being a two time champ. Consistency is important.

He only defended the belt once against Wilder. It was a contractual obligation that was going to cost him tens of millions if he didn't fight him. Again, he fought them in America because it was contractual obligation. He wouldn't have got the title fight without agreeing to it. He didn't make that third fight with Wilder because he wanted it. In fact, he tried very hard to get out of it.

Yes he beat Whyte. Wow. Not exactly a super fight. Whyte is a similar level to Ruiz.

Then he retired.....

No Usyk, no Joshua. You believe AJ is dodging it if you want. Everything in the news suggests Fury is the one halting negotiations.

nobody knows the truth on this. Fury has form for spouting a lot of nonsense, Joshua doesn't. I remember Joshua saying he offered Wilder his biggest fight ever, and Wilder saying it was BS. People piled on Joshua.

Roll forward 18 months and Wilder lets slip that he turned down a massive payday against Joshua to fight a half fit Fury, basically proving that Joshua was being truthful.

The fight game is full of a lot of bravado, a lot of talk, and they're all probably guilty of it to varying degrees. I wouldn't blame Joshua if he wanted a couple of warm ups, but also I think if a genuine fight with Fury was on the cards, he'd find it hard to resist after the history between the two.
