Anthony Joshua Agrees Terms to Fight Tyson Fury on December 3rd (or not)

He may knock him over but no way Joshua knocks fury out. Fury could just toy and outbox him for 12 rounds. He will make light work of Joshua IMO
Of course he is capable of KOing Fury, he's KOd multiple people that had never been KOd before like Povetkin and Pulev they were renowned for having a granite chin, and over and out they went.

IMO he is favourite, but he will not make light work of him.

Agree to disagree sir

If fury really goes ahead and fights Charr instead of AJ because the contract signing was taking longer than he wanted then its about time boxing fans started calling him out on it. I'm getting sick of his mouth to be honest.

It feels as if this has all been orchestrated. If he wants a tune up fight after a period of inactivity, just say what it is.

Going back to my earlier post.... Fury does not try hard enough to get the best fighters in front of him.

Absolutely. I'd make Fury favourite, but in heavyweight boxing there is always that slim chance, even if you put it at 1%, that any heavyweight regardless of skill, experience or record can catch the other square on the chin, temple with all their power on the front foot and they'll put them to sleep due to the sheer weight behind said punch, and the size of the men involved. I think Fury wins, i think he wins by KO, but it wont be a walk in the park and for all the 'bodybuilder' talk he will not go into this taking AJ lightly whatsoever he'll know he has punch power.

absolutely does, clearly already had Charr lined up, Charr whose fought absolutely nobody a fight that absolutely no one was calling for. Rated at number 61 in the world according to Boxrec. Joke of a fight.

60/40 - we accept
50/50 for the rematch - we accept
3rd Dec instead of 17th - we accept

Followed by spurious deadlines from fury
Monday or it’s off
Monday at 5 o clock or it’s off

Joshua well and truly called his bluff - what does it matter to Fury a few days to get everything agreed. I think it still may happen and fury massively damaging his reputation pulling this stunt. Remembering he had signed before only to be told he had to fight wilder.

How can the Un defeated heavy weight champion of the world who just won his last fight have his reputation damaged by a three time losing boxer now based in Saudi refusing to fight him

Am I missing something here

The bottom line is, Fury gave Joshua an offer that he wasn't deserving of and didn't take it.

The silence from AJ and his team has been deafening. He clearly didn't want the fight, probably knowing fine well he'd be on to 4 defeats in his last 6 fights.
Spot on Marv, Joshua doesn’t deserve to be in the ring with Fury, I’d much prefer to see Usyk Fury. AJ would be stupid not to accept.

Yes like going to the us to fight wilder or fight klitchko in his back yard etc.

Despite being 2 years out of the sport

It’s no Ruiz in Saudi I’ll give ex you that.
He took 2 tune up fights before the first fight and took 2 tune up fights before the second one. So he wasn't 2 years out of the sport.

If he kept himself active instead of declaring fraudulent retirements he wouldn't keep needing these tune up fights.

Regarding the Ruiz fight, he was a late stand in for Miller who was an unbeaten mandatory for Joshua. It's not like he took the fight with many options. It was either fight Ruiz or cancel the card. Do you think he shouldn't have taken the rematch and left Ruiz with the belts? Joshua has defended his belts 8 times against top 10 fighters and mandatories. Fury has defended his world title twice and padded his record with a load of top 50 fighters.

Fury much better boxer in my opinion but its hard to defend him when it comes to match making. If it really is AJ running scared as he suggests, get another top 10 fighter in there and make the fight with Usyk or Joyce early next year. There'll be piles of fighters wanting to fight him.

He's just making a mockery of his followers.

That's dishonest though mate, because you've brought Ruiz up when a fair comparison is that Joshua has also fought Klitschko, you're better than that.

Wilder is over rated, most people totally get that now. Can't box, can't really punch on the retreat. He's beaten nobody of note. Ruiz is a better boxer than everyone wilder has beaten, and everyone Fury has beaten bar Klitschko. I'd put Ruiz slightly above Wilder. You can then add Pulev, Parker, and Povetkin as better than everyone else Fury has beaten bar Whyte...who Joshua also beat.

Most Defintley you are - Joshua isn’t refusing to fight him, fury’s just had his bluff called and now he’s embarrassing himself. Even his promoter is saying negotiations are going well.

...and lets not forget how late a stand in he was. Literally a week before. Joshua had bulked for fighting a huge guy in Miller, he then had to fight a much smaller guy in Ruiz. Went from fighting a 315lbs guy to a 268 and had to get his head space right for it. Prep was all wrong.

When fury fought klitschko he was still on top, he was finished when Joshua beat him and you could see that. The two fights don’t compare.

I think many would argue that the Klitschko that fought Fury looked unmotivated and slow whereas the Klitschko that Joshua fought looked re-motivated and came to war.
Either way both beat the man that was in front of them in very different fights and thats all you can ask.

Argue all you want but AJ could have signed the contract. He didn't. He wasn't desperate for the fight or he would have signed.

AJ will have 2-3 fights against bums as he tries to rebuild his reputation and get another title shot, if it ever happens.

Usyk's next fight will be against Fury. If Fury beats him and becomes the unified HW champ there is no way he's giving AJ a shot at that. If Usyk wins how long will it be before AJ gets a shot against him? Never? He'd have to hope Usyk gets beat and face that champ - a lot of ifs and buts.

I'm not sure what AJ's plan is. Unless something strange happens he's not going to get another title shot for YEARS. What is the point? He should have took the Fury fight with his 60/40 split and then if he got beat took up punditry. If he beats Fury he's back for 50/50 split fight. He'd make millions.

I can't see the downside to accepting the Fury fight. It is a total gift for AJ. He's an idiot to turn it down.

Don't think this forum has ever before debated the respective credentials of Fury and Joshua, what a refreshing change!

So based upon your in depth knowledge of the contract negotiations - are there any delays stumbling blocks amongst the broadcasters.? You obviously seem to be closer to this than Fury’s promoter:

Frank Warren has insisted that they are still trying to make Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua following a "good meeting" today. However, he said Fury's "lost patience", hence his deadline. [@talkSPORT]
