Anthony Joshua Agrees Terms to Fight Tyson Fury on December 3rd (or not)

Marv, you've also accused Joshua of not wanting the big fight with Fury, despite Joshua also being a two time champ. Consistency is important.

No denying AJ is a 2 time champ. It's a fact. But this is in response to Fury apparently not taking on any big fights, when there's evidence that proves otherwise.

This has nothing to do with AJ. This is about B_G saying Fury doesn't take on the big fights...when actually he went to Germany to fight the world champ. Then went to USA to fight the world champ. Then put his belt on the line against the mandatory challenger in Whyte. Everything there proves he doesn't dodge the big fights.

And now he's outing AJ with a remarkable offer, in which AJ has stalled and so far not accepted...thereby suggesting he's running away from Tyson.

Have you seen the contract?
Do you know the reasons why AJ has not yet signed?

We don't know the details, and that is where the devil is. It seems awfully fast for Fury to have some 3rd rate boxer ready to go.

Aj's team have already said that they accept the financial terms (based on the split) but a big fight contract has a lot more than the split in it. No venue, sponsors, undercard, TV rights, which are the basis of the split were included in the offer according to reports.

Fury is just mouthing off for attention, I doubt even his own legal team are ready to sign off a deal

All we know is that the initial purse split is a 60/40 for the first fight.

Pure speculation here but an example of why a contract may not be signed...

The split of a rematch if Fury was beaten is often agreed in the first contract. Maybe this is under contention. Or a million other reasons.
Doesn't mean AJ is running away from it.

There was a venue.

AJ and Joyce now popping at each other on twitter so perhaps AJ is putting things in place for an alternative fight.
AJ v Joyce would be a cracking fight. Meanwhile Fury can go mess around with Charr.

I'm sure Joyce would jump in with Fury so if the AJ fight can't be made, why not make a fight with Joyce?

Why does a fight have to be made in December? He's never really cleared that up. WBA have already said he's under no time restriction from them.... Why not fight Usyk early next year? Usyk has said he's willing to do that.
He has contract obligations with ESPN iirc

Coul
but had the venue contract been signed? and was the date feasible for TV etc?

Fury knows contracts take a long time to sign after the initial agreement, he's just posturing.
Could there be a disagreement over who airs it? BT or Sky Box Office? Matchroom or Queensberry

I read that hearn said things like who’s in control of undercard budgets etc had to be ironed out and couldn’t be done in the time they were give.

Although B_G has already stated it twice. On his behalf I will try to explain it to you for a third time.

B_G did NOT say Fury doesn’t take on the big fights. He stated he does not take on the big fights once he has a belt(s).

Also AJ hasn’t stalled. £100m+ fights don’t get finalised in a week or two.

And again I'll repeat myself yet again, just for you.

He fought Wilder again - granted that was contractual.
Then he fought Whyte - the mandatory challenger.
Now he's outing AJ because Usyk won't fight again this year.

Proving he does take on the big fights.

Fury reminds me of the bull$hit merchant from the pub/work/school who has half the people falling for everything he says and the other half wondering how and why the first lot believe him.

In the interest of expressing my impartiality, I believe he would be a comfortable favourite should the fight ever get made.

Two examples!?!? One of which was contractual that he tried to get out of.

You have provided such a significant amount of overwhelming evidence that Fury is clearly keen as mustard to get in the ring with the top fighters whilst he has a belt that I will have to bow out.

After all, if I remember correctly, the guy has been involved in 5 title fights, defending his title twice in the process. The guy is clearly game as a badger and willing to fight anyone.

H44 spot on.

Hearn wanted the same terms 60/40 but in Joshua’s favour if he were to win the first fight. They declined so Hearn/ Joshua agreed to 50/50 for the rematch. That was agreed and is well publicised- so it’s not taht.

Didn't see that, and seems like AJ has been more than fair there.
Point is, there could be loads of contentious points in a contract. Many of them minor details. But obviously they need sorting before it's signed.

If the main purse splits are agreed verbally and other major points and the contract looks likely, there no reason why both fighters can't start training with the finer details thrashed out in the background. It's not uncommon.
Like AJ said, it's with his legal team and promotion team to sort that out.
