Andy McDonald resigns from shadow cabinet

£15 per hour minimum wage is where it should be at right now. We've had a stagnated wage for so long people think it's 'cloud cuckoo land' now.

Good on Andy! Showing a principled stance.
Where were his principles in 2019 when he campaigned on a manifesto pledge to increase the rate to £10?

Read his resignation letter, he's showboating.

£10/hr in 2019 and £15/hr 5 years later seems about right to start the levelling up process.

As a Labour MP said last week, levelling up for the Tories is about bricks, for Labour it's about people . . . . . hopefully.

People should be earning that, it's not a great deal of money.
So someone working in a shop or flipping burgers should be getting £15 per hour. That's £600 a week . A nurse will get a £100 a week rise just to get on minimum wage. So then a Nurse with £30,000 of debt from getting their degree will be on the same money as a burger flipper or a cleaner or shop worker. Does that make sense.
It's no good saying well give the nurse more because it will never happen.
