An intelligent forward who can play as a 9 or a 10

We should be watching the Oxford vs. Peterborough L1 play-offs. Both have some really good young players...

Peterborough
Harrison Burrows - LB - 6 goals 14 assists - 22 years old
Ricky-Jade Jones - LW - 9 goals 4 assists - 21 years old
Kwame Poku - RW - 11 goals 7 assists - 22 years old

Oxford
Mark Harris - ST - 15 goals 4 assists - 25 years old - Welsh international
Tyler Goodrham - RW - 8 goals 4 assists - 20 years old.

I don't think that the old "midfield enforcer/hardman" is a good option for us. it doesn't suit our style of play. I'd rather we played how we do just a bit better. So perhaps another LL type striker and if we don't think Azaz or Gilbert will make the No 10 their own look for another Chuba. More flexibility in creating and converting chances. Our goals conceded at the end of the season wasn't that bad despite that we had a period with a completely makeshift defence.

We need someone with pace on the left, basically a Jones equivalent and a replacement for Howson/Hackney and we are sorted!

Agree, I'd like us to have a good look at Dembele from Blackpool. Very quick, plays on the left, scores goals.👍

Some account on Twitter reckon Boro are in for Burrows. Can’t see it myself.

They probably just read posts from here and tweet them. A few fans, including myself, have mentioned him a few times.

I'd love to sign him - but I think we'll stick with Engel/Bangura next season.

Tyler Goodrham might be more realistic - play Forss as a backup striker for Lathe and have Goodrham as alternative/backup for Jones.

How many times has Forss been played as a striker since Carrick arrived?

Femi Azeez free / Danny Armstrong £700k / Sorba Thomas £3.5m as competition for Jones , all 3 will push for a 1st team start .

He played 7 - 8 games as a ST when Carrick first arrived before he was switched to a RW.

He also played alongside Latte Lath as a ST a few times before he got injured this season - scored against QPR and Norwich when we switched to a 5-3-2.

Goodrham would still be my 1st choice but I'd love to sign Femi Azeez on a free too.

Someone like Rutter who plays for Leeds would be ideal, think he got a load of assists for them this season as well as a few goals.

A cheaper version though. 😅

I think Goodrham was tentatively linked with us in January. I do think we could do with another direct winger out there. Sorba Thomas would be a decent option.

Also could really do with a refresh in the left wing position. Willock is the obvious option for me and I do like Jay Stansfield as a striker option or maybe Al Hamadi from Ipswich who was signed in January. Didn't play a whole lot after being signed, could be on a relatively low wage. Might want to send him out on loan after getting promoted.

We need to add about 20 goals next season - I expect half of that to come from Lath and the rest from a No 10 type player
