4 more years of Trump

Hopefully Biden and Harris are making plans to replace Bill Barr before any efforts to investigate Trump proceed with haste.
Barr believes in the "unitary executive" theory which is why he is so quick to do Trumps bidding to try and end any investigations of the president. Judging by her grilling of him previously, Harris will be more than happy to bin Barr quicker than you can say malarkey.

Barr quickly abandoned his responsibilities as a Law Officer of the state. He like many others took an oath to defend the constitution, the puppet of Trump, using state thuggery to clear Lafayette Square to allow the non religious Trump hold a bible upside down still makes me feel sick now.

I'm guessing you can't be pardoned for something you haven't been found guilty of, which is why SDNY have yet to start the prosecution.

Strangely enough it seems there's still a debate about whether a sitting President can pardon himself. Also the idea of pre-emptive pardons. Interesting debate between two US lawyers about the idea that Biden pardon the whole Trump family for all crimes that they yet haven't been accused of. Can't find it, I'll keep looking.
The protection the office provides the incumbent seems not to have been fully tested.
But that would fall away, obviously when he loses that office.
Don't forget because GOP controlled The Senate the impeachment enquiry was killed stone dead when evidence wasn't allowed to be heard.
But when he a again becomes a citizen SDNY might have enough to bury the whole lot of them.

I think this is going to be their last play, offer to step down and stop all litigation in return for some kind of everlasting pardon. Then they can push on with launching... Trump TV

I think this has gone beyond the point of pardon. His behaviour has been so beyond acceptability in a democracy, and with the base he has built on lies, and his childrens desire to go into politics, there needs to be a consequence to stop them and anyone else who has the desire to be a fascist leader of the US. This is like that moment in the first Iraq war where Bush had to decide if he was going to push on and dismantle Saddam, or step back and hope he would change his behaviour....he went on to gas the kurds, murder his own people, refuse to follow UN negotiated orders to maintain peace and integrate him into the international community, and ultimately lead to the second gulf war, the formation of ISIS and middle east chaos. This is a US domestic moment on that scale. They should not back down, because the next US despot will learn from this and come back harder if they think there is always on easy way out of this on offer.

When will this be over? Chuffing hell it drags on, like a series of 24 when the beginning is exciting, and you look forward to the end but have the 18 hours in the middle to get through. Or a Boro game under Pulis 😀

Another week before one state finalises count.

Although some things are a little shady like the dead voters who are 120 / 118 years old....

Trump has shown himself up big time - he should accept defeat, instead of potentially causing a civil war
