4 more years of Trump

Looking forward to the grand finale super tantrump just before he is escorted from the building by the FBI. Melania is probably getting ready to dump him and folk are lining up to testify against him in criminal matters once his privilege is gone. Couldnt happen to a nicer guy. Wonder if he will be back in 2024? Yanks should take a lesson from our electoral system. Its serious business, don't you know.Screenshot_20201107-082130_Chrome.jpg

Anyone else find it desperately sad the lengths people go to to protect "their" man?

I don't know why people can't lose with good grace. Not sure when we become such a whinny bunch of losers that we have to throw tantrums and make up lies when things don't go the way we want.

Trump isn't a 'loser' and he never will be.

This isn't the last we will hear of him - this is an interesting read, scary & depressing though it is.

"Above all, though, the Biden illegitimacy myth will function as a prop for Trump’s own fragile ego. Unable to cope with the loss of the presidency, unable to accept that he was beaten, Trump will now shield himself from the reality of defeat by pretending it didn’t happen. His personal need to live in a perpetual fantasyland, a world where he is always winning, is so overpowering that he will do anything to maintain it. In his narcissistic drive to create this alternative reality, he will deepen divisions, spread paranoia, and render his supporters even more fearful of their fellow citizens and distrustful of their institutions. This is a president who never had America’s interests at heart. Do not expect loss to change him. "

Same with brexit also. Democracy has become divisive and that its no surprise when you see what first world nations are becoming. People want what they want and they want it now. 2 generations ago people were happier with enough to get by on. Today's consumer society everything is a click away wether you can afford it or not. If you can't have what you want people look to blame someone else. It's been that way for some time and moving more and more in that direction.

And yet it seems like the older generation are like this and those younger in society who want to change the world are branded by this older generation as snowflakes.

4 more years of Trump is still possible, I never realised that after only serving 4 years this time he can run at the next election for another 4 year stint
I suspect the damage he will inflict on the country over the coming days and is disruptive influence that may yet cause civil unrest his days as a future President are over. I may be wrong but I think like all deposed despots he will disappear from the public to enjoy his wealth in his final years.

That's a very good point Cardiff, not sure of the answer either but it does call into question my post. I still stand by my post despite your excellent counter argument. I just don't know why, but it feels right.

I think you may be right on your first point but I'm not so sure on the second.

I don't think he's going to be able to disappear all that easily. There are a number of lawsuits against him already underway and the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) are probably going to be knocking on his door with a bunch more shortly.

Doubt he would be able, or not want to run as a Republican. Which means being an independent.
Like some US pundits said, he could possibly take 20-22 million personal votes out the the stash, and split the vote. The Dems would walk it
He likes doing deals...imagine be able to walk into a meeting with the future of GOP in your back pocket and being able to say. ". I think we need to talk"
