This is I thought was the most interesting line in the article (thanks for posting by the way).

Trump's relationship with the Republican party was fractious in the early days. The cracks have been quick to appear now, and I'd suspect that it's been a marriage of convenience over the past 4 years.
However, I'm not convince that Trump has ever been committed to the RP, rather he's used them, and they've used him when it's been convenient. I doubt he has any interesting in anointing a successor.

I think he wants his airhead daughter to be his successor then the unstable Don Jr, then Barron. His worth in his eyes would be increased by having kids that are president, that legitimises him and his name. I really doubt it could happen though, not now that they will facing years of litigation and possible FBI investigations. They will be fighting so many battles as a family that they will be really struggling to keep from being ruined.

it will be interesting to see if he has, I mean those foreign banks will now be very nervous about getting their 450mill back. Trump is setting fire to his brand, His image is going to go through the mud in January when the lawsuits start.. This could be Garald Ratner x1,000,000

There's also the Southern District New York attorneys. SDNY have had an ongoing investigation into the whole of the Trump family finances for several years. That's all of them.
That wouldn't save any of them even from a Presidential pardon which doesn't cover state criminal offences

Pity the fool who runs as Republican in 2024 as I am pretty sure they will be facing Michelle Obama.
 
Recount to take place in Georgia. I only hope that PA is won by over 0.5% in Biden's favour as that will mean no recount there I believe, and Trump will be toast regardless. Very orange, very angry toast.

I'm guessing you can't be pardoned for something you haven't been found guilty of, which is why SDNY have yet to start the prosecution.

He is also potentially liable for the Michael Cohen conspiracy as Indivual-1 election expenses fraud.

He certainly may be very busy come February 2021 but my worry is that it may be impossible to find a jury that could treat any case impartiality.

He can’t future pardon state crimes. There has been some speculation he may try and grant himself general pardon for any federal offences not even charged yet or even investigated!
