2nd Test Eng v NZ

Or, we have Stirling session first up, England all out before lunch and we have a lead of around 50.

Go for it big time, lead of 250 at the close, and have 3 sessions at England on a deteriorating pitch.

You can but dream.

If the pitch starts to do something, then anything can happen. England have a long batting tail, so I would not be surprised that if NZ can get a couple of quick wickets that the end comes quickly.

Love it but I fear the pitch is too docile for any kind of collapse

This pitch is as flat as a pancake. Pope scored 147 on it. Even Foakes will get a ton 😎
I mean you're probably right. But if any side can collapse on it, it's England 😂

That said there already feels like there's an improved mentality (even taking into account some dubious fielding).

Quite nice sat in the sun here in Danby listening to TMS don’t normally get the chance.

Lovely to here Jeremy Coneys voice again. Him and Bryan Waddle were a great double act.

I hear you have had interesting weather AT!
Tornados hit us here last night NZ! Freak bad weather - lots of flooding and hundreds of lightening strikes here near Kapiti.

England may push on and score 620 on this pitch which will be a 70 lead by tea. Then they will need to bowl out NZ in two sessions to realistically win this. I think the situation is now that England are the only team that can’t lose the match from this position now. The only way I can see a result is if we can bowl them out in just over 2 sessions and leave time for some sort of run chase. Tall order
If England are still batting at tea the lead will be nearer 150, conversely if NZ bowl England before lunch they could be 70/80 ahead by tea and potentially 180 ahead by close of play.

Very intriguing match but will probably end up being a run fest draw :)

England to score 700 by tea then depends on Root pushing on. If he goes early I can see the run rate slowing.

The next score to watch for is 594 - the highest previous Test Score by England v New Zealand was 593-6 in Auckland in 1975

England haven't scored 600 + in a test innings since 2016
