I guess you get teh choice to preserve sporting integrity at all costs, or preserve entertainment. You can' have bothBoth were obviously offside. But hey why bother showing the fans in the ground a little bit of respect by letting them know that by putting your flag up.
Tey just need to speed up the process and it won't be a problem. We now get 99% of offsides correct, and probably the other 1% too.Interesting isn’t it how the use of VAR isn’t anywhere near as intrusive in this tournament as it is in the premier league.
Mike Riley and his mates have created a monster.
After the goal was scored, rather than at the time of the obvious offside. The first did.

The rule should be if you think there's an offside put your flag up but play on, but that would involve some consideration of the match day experience for the supporter.
They have to confer with the big clubs in England, here it's just a ref with a video replay capability.Just like in the WC 2018, VAR is running smoothly in this tournament and there have been no disagreements. The PL is doing something very wrong when it comes to using it.
Well you could do as in rugby, note the penalty or infringement, allow play on, and bring it back if there is no advantage within a certain time? How would that work? The flag stays up whilst play goes on? For how long - until the ball goes dead? You could have the assistant ref out of action for a minute. Or are you suggesting the linesman. sticks his flag up and then puts it down again to carry on officiating the play in which case confusion could be caused.

Of course there will be confusion. It's the inevitable side effect of VAR. At least it allows fans to celebrate a goal.
I really enjoyed tonights game, despite France winning. Some really good players on display in that game, I hope our recruitment team were watching
Certainly looks like Low has overstayed his welcome, especially after their disastrous World Cup in Russia. Cannot remember the last time Germany went out in the group stages of two competitions in a row, and whilst this format offers a lifeline for **** group performances, a loss against Portugal at the weekend and things are looking really tricky for them.Germans have been very average for me in qualification but the inclusion of some new blood seems to have sealed some weak points— France have pretty much the same 11 as WC, so it’ll be interesting how much this win for France disjoints the Germans— could be a tough call if they qualify.
Why put it up and influence players? Let the passage continue then checkThe rule should be if you think there's an offside put your flag up but play on, but that would involve some consideration of the match day experience for the supporter.
Thought they looked lively for about 20 mins in the second half Pushed their wing backs further forward and created 1 or 2 chances. Ngraby should have done better with his opportunity. But as you say looked laboured otherwise and the next game will be interesting v Portugal.I felt the germans were pretty poor to be honest, lacked creativity, moved the ball slowly in midfield and looked vulnerable to the counter-attack. It may just be that they were playing one of the best defensive and counter-attacking sides in the world, we will know more in a couple of days.
